View Full Version : Will the early 90-96 Q45 differential accept an s-chassis LSD?

In my quest for a 3.54 R&P for my s14 differential i have come to accept i may need to just convert to the early q45 differential that already came equipped with that ratio, i realize it is an R230, but have also read that it will use the stock S14 input flanges.

I am currently running the S15 Helical LSD and love it and really don't feel like buying a q45 differential AND another LSD that will fit (i dont really care for welded diff's or a VLSD). So i am asking this one question, will the carrier from an S-chassis car work inside the early Q45 R230 differential? I am guessing it probably will not work, and i'll just have to run the S15 6-speed's 3.69 that i currently have laying on my floor.

I don't believe the s15 or any s chassis ring gear will bolt onto the q45 differential as the q45 should have a larger diameter ring gear.
