View Full Version : Weird Acceleration Issue

Hey guys!

So I've recently had troubles with my KA dual cam.
Chronologically, my car had a rough idle and acceleration issues. It lead me to believe my MAF was on its last leg. It finally began to randomly die on me while idling, and the acceleration would completely cut while under load for anywhere from 3-15 seconds. I replaced the MAF and ran into a new problem: my car won't rev past 4k under heavy load(pedal to the floor). If I'm light on accel, it will go through the entire rev range with an issue. The idle is also good.. I did a bunch of reading and found it could be multiple issues. Today, I replaced the underhood fuel filter and the TPS. The TPS is set at .48v. The problem still persists, in the same fashion. Still have a good idle, still won't go past 4k rpm's.

I honestly don't know where to go from here so any input would be greatly appreciated!

Update: The idle has gone bad again, I'm thinking it's the IACV

I'd say check your wiring and connectors. While I was driving to work one morning my car kept dying while decelerating, turned out in my case that two of the three wires broke off the maf connector. So maybe you got something similar going on.

check grounds and get another maf

I'm pretty sure it's my maf, but idk if it's my sensor where the connector actually connect from the harness, the maf or my soldering skills. I bought the connector with pigtail from WS

To bring this thread to an end, it appears as if the sensor boot in my previous maf was trash, wasn't connecting properly. Got my new-to-me MAF in the mail today, slapped it in and she runs like a champ. At temp, I might add.
