I've just learn from Nissan Italy that the maximum tire size I can put on my S14 sr20det is 225/45/17 :stupid:
I've plan to buy a set of gram 57pro gold or a SSR Sp1 but now I'm not sure if in 17 can give me the same effect..
The alternative is to sell my S14 and find one in Germany where law don't look at this bullshit and if the car come to Italy with 18 it's legal..
Any advise?? Anyone had SSR or gram on 17??

I know but isn't for me!!!..
Here (Italy) u have only 1 or 2 tires size possible for the car, this is estabilished by nissan italy..If u want a bigger one u need to ask the a document, but they told me that the bigger that I can't have is this f*****g 225/45/17 If I put on a size not legalized the police could stop the car for 1 month.. and a big ticket!!and in case of accident the assicuration want pay anything.. Is the F*****G law here!!!!

17" looks good on the car, IMO. You don't even need to touch the fenders to get bigger than 225 on the S14, they have huge fenders... but the law being what it is...
Choose offset and width to get the look you want (and I'm sure there are laws regarding that, too... in the US it's technically not legal to have any rotating part of the wheel go past the fender). 17" can be plenty aggressive. Go 17x8 for vertical sidewalls, 17x9 for stretch. You could probably go as low as +25 offset without touching the bodywork or alignment... plenty lower if you want to experiment with camber and the fenders. IMO a 17x9 +25 57Pro (they come that size) would look sharp. The "A" face design will clear your calipers, and the manufacturer says you get 62mm of lip. :rawk:

Very kind AKAdriver!!!
The law here is very restricive about car modification..the tire need to be on the profile of the car for sure!!
My first think about wheels was 18x8 +16 MD and 18x9 +11NR for SSR
Same for 17..
For 57Pro.. 18x8 +22 disk B and 18x9 +22disk C

If 17s your only option, id personally run 17x9 roughly 20mm offset to clear it without touching the fenders. 235/45s should be sufficient. 30mm is the highest ill go without it looking stupidly sunk in a S14.
But honestly, for S14s, I personally prefer 18s. It just look cleaner to me, just look like it fills the fenderwell better than 17s with more tire. My next set of rims will probably be 18x9s or 10s 255/35 or 275/30s shooting for bout 20-25mm offset. I know the offsets still somewhat conservative by some peoples standards but im doing it for tire reasons. I wanna make my damn tires last and this is probably as close as I can get it to be flush with the fenders with out pulling them or if i do pull em out, itll be very minimal just to keep em from rubbing.

i wish those were 18s rather than 17s, but oh well.
until i get more money, 17s will stay.
