I am looking to upgrade my turbo kit, injectors, and MAF in the next few weeks. I am thinking of buying a POWER FC for engine management. I have a s14 sr20det in a 95 240sx.

My question is i dont know how to identify which model s14 motor i have zenki ot kouki. Is there anyway to tell from the block stampings, ecu or any other way?

I would rething the power fc. Its very very expensive for what it does.
If you have modest goals, a power fc is not necissary.

I am willing to take that s14 sr MAFs off your hands......PM me the part number on it and with that I can tell you about the engine.

I dont think it is all too expensive. $1000 isnt alot in my eye's concidering what it does, I wont have to upgrade later on when i do more mods.

I know as of right now it's not needed for the mods listed, but in the long run it will end up being the right choice i believe.

the is a 65f stamped in the engine block and the head.

Post pictures of the front of the head, and dont let anyone talk you out of a pfc.

Sorry i dont have a digital camera to take pics of the front of the motor..SOrry i hope this can determine it.

Nobody is talking me out of the PFC either.

See those little ridges on the head? I was told that its one of the way to identify an S14 Kouki SR. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

I was told from howard at Phase2 that WC isnt ALways a Zenki. Said both motor used wc's at one point.

I don't know about the circled part of the picture because the original poster of the pics did that, I only know about the ridges on the head.

the top one is an Auto TPS the bottom is an Manual.

Shut up and get a Haltech... you can even buy premade harnesses for SR. Use the Haltech to run your engine and the stock sr ecu to control everything else.

Hello everyone,

I currently have a kouki or a S15 engine. I swapped it in over the summer. My car came with a blown Zenki engine. How much trouble am I in regarding different ECU's?

Here is what was said on FA

"The Zenki 93-96 s14 motors have no fins in the centered rectangle indent on the front of the head.

The Kouki 97-98 motors have fins that run through the whole rectangle indent on the front of the head

The S15 motors fins that go half way down in the rectangle indent."

well that is a s13 red top "zenki" sr not a s14 "zenki" sr.

And all s14 96 and up engines have fins that run up and down on the front of the head and have slanted vavle cover.

is you car a s13 or s14? if it's a s13 you will need to use the s14 ecu and harness

did the engine come attached with the intake manifold and injectors? s14's i believe came with purple injector plugs and s15's came with red..

DP, I appreciate your help, I just wanted to clarify for everyone, that angle of the pic can throw anyone off.

To continue, I have a pic of the injectors, they are in fact purple. Can anyone else atest to the fact that purple plugs = S14 and red = S15?
