I'm very confused as to why there would be so many car's an an obon festival.

Since when is being a car enthusiasts related to japanese culture? I know it's a part of the culture over there, but what's with the people that want to be japanese because of it? I never understood cultural fetishism in the car community. Car's are machines. I understand the technical love of machines, but as to why people love the cultural context they're put in, i am still baffled.

JDM car show with a japanese festival sickens me, and makes me wonder if all this enthusiasm is cheapening my culture.
