i hate spyware

somehow my computer started to become slow so i did a scan and found atlease 20 spyware. don't know how they got in but my bro might have a idea :wtc: . i have a couple of programs to use from like lavasoft's adware, spy doctor and the best... webroot's spy sweeper. it found the spywares mentioned. i removed them and i starts working better but when i reboot or turn my computer off, the stuff comes back so im guessing that the spywares aren't being removed permantly. anybody know what to do? also i have the free version and was wondering if i bought the product would it do any good? for you who have the non-free version of spy sweeper what the difference and impact? thanks for those who help

I use ad-aware 6.0 good stuff. like couple of years ago me and some friends (who have never scaned for spy-ware b4 did the scan and bet to see who had the most spy ware!! I think my buddys lil bro won with like 250+ HAHAHA!!! It takes all of that crap out, but the reaccuring ones might just be cookies. Not all cookies are bad so.. ya..

yea... i have the adware you mentioned, great stuff but sometimes it leaves out stuff that other programs find.also i know about cookies but spy sweeper tells you if its a cookie or not. thanks

dude sucks.. i dunno what i was looking at.. but now i start my browser and some stupid site keeps setting itself as my homepge and opens up my cdrom and pops up a notepad text saying "if this happens blah blah you need this" crap... sucks..

adaware and spybot are ok but they don't catch everything. to really keep your system clear of spyware you have to do it yourself. get a program like 'hijack this!' and learn how to manually toy with your registry and startup list, etc...

or stop going to porn websites.

i have like 4 ad programs adaware, search and destroy, hijak etc

after running all those Pest Patrol Found an additional 1900 files, 2500 on my rommates laptop

spybot search and destroy. alotta p2p programs have built in spyware, kazaa, limewire, etc...

Man i use to have so many problems with spyware. I have the same progs you just mentioned and I would scan and delete around 10 files each time... 5 mins later, more spyware, scan...same stuff is back.. Same with popups, google's blocker which had always work so well, apparently stopped, popups would come up even while I was away from the computer...

Found the REAL problem... Internet Explorer

Ever since I switched to Mozilla...I've had maybe about 1 popup ever, and not a single spyware program... I had known about it so long but I was so lazy I just never D/Led it... Trust me, totally worth it, it feels weird surfing without popups..yay...
