For the REAR shocks on a 91 240SX with Hicas, KYB says "....not available for Hicas equipped cars". Tokico does not have a valid answer, but compared yet another manufacturer, and they too agree.....non-Hicas only. Dealer says no. Any help? Any mods to delete Hicas, then upgrade to available KYB or Tokico.......??

bah. ignore it. the strut companies' databases are outdated and/or inaccurate. any 240SX aftermarket dampers will fit and work great on HICAS cars and convertibles, even if they say they won't.

Yup, they are all the same. I guess they just dont have the time or money to get a HICAS 240 to test fit them to have a real answer. But there is no dif in the shock design in any s13, HICAS models included. The OEM HICAS model shocks and springs are a little stiffer then the stock 240 but not by much.

I haven't been over to AAM in a while... I had my GTI dyno'd there a loong time ago. There's a new shop that just opened in Gaithersburg, AMS Tuning. I've been meaning to check them out.
