Hi guys,

My name is Cimon, and I'm from Montreal, Quebec. I'm French, so don't worry if sometimes I make some little mistakes in the text :)

Pretty excited to finally get in the S-Chassis family. On January 4th, I've bought my S13 as my new build for '15 season.

Hard to find some clean ones up here in Canada, not rusted & beaten as hell.

Good thing I've jumped on a deal, low mileage & very great condition '89 240SX HB.

First week. First Zilvia night searches & PayPal abuses.
Found my 180SX Kouki Front End & Chuki Sideskirts. Kinda rough condition but worth the work for the price I've paid them.

Always loved the way Kouki front bumpers looked with the license plate nicely cutted.

Finally got them ready for paint. Everything got primed to make place and work on the car! Looks so clean! Pretty excited :)

Made a bit of room in the front, relocated harness in case too.

As I want to make this build in the classic mood, I'll keep the front OE fenders & mod them to fit these. 50mm OverFenders for the rear are sitting patiently in the basement.

Everything was cleaned then perfectly glued inside & tomorrow we are finalizing with a body sealant to do a clean & durable job.

Forgot to post this last weekend, but I've finally found what will suit the rear end! I was searching mainly OE parts, but the fact that it wasn't as aggressive as the rest of the car was bugging me.
Jumped on a deal up here in Quebec. Came with this QT lol

No adjustment have been done at all, so I'm very impressed. Fitment will be really on-point with some minor fender work in the front, and in the rear w/ over fenders i'll probably need some 15-20mm spacers to get the exact same fitment all around.

Hopefully the PBM coilovers w/ stock springs (10k/8k) will be stiff enough. If not, I'll consider buying some Swift springs probably.

I've sprayed all the trunk space and began the front floors too tonight. Not really useful lol but looks pretty clean after all that rust repair & sealer used! 2 cans of truck bed liner !

You can make sure tho I won't swap a LS in it ha!

If you like rb's and ka's why not compromise and go for an sr20 or something or maybe even 1jz I'm most likely going for ls in my s14

Im planning a bottom mount HKS Gt2835 KA-T build for my s13, I definitely back that decision! If you keep the quality of the build so far carried over to the mechanical aspects this build is about to be insane.

Worked a bit on the car tonight again. Cleaned up/Degreased all rear inner fenders to eventually shoot the gravel guard, stripped all the hood / degreased too.

This weekend is going to progress a lot, like I've posted: Body putty phase.

We've decided to give a big time this afternoon on degreasing/restoring all interior parts & trims even we are not ready to install them. Feels pretty good.

Still searching for couple of OE parts to replace, and everything is BO out there in the dealers. Hopefully eBay will eventually give me what I want ha!

Also made the rear inner fenders. All cleaned-up, scrapped & degreased and finally sprayed the Gravel Guard. Looks so clean! Wow

Here's a Before & After of the passenger side, where the rocker been changed totally, and sealed. The application of the gravel guard makes it so OEM & even.

Finally installed the rear spacers in the rear (20mm) to achieve the same exact fitment as the front. So happy!
Final specs are 18x11 ET-10

Finally decided to buy my friend's pair of Swift Springs. 18kg
Fitment is 99% set and even if I haven't drove the car yet, I'm scared it wouldn't be enough stiff.

I'll put the 18KGs up front, and take the 10KGs PBM and put them in the rear.

Little update! Went on a different route for the KA's cover. My buddy found a new random custom mix that was amazing. A deep purple w/ flakes.

Speedometer was dead. Bought a 180sx one here on Zilvia. 100k km instead of 275k is nice too lol

I suggest some sort of mask or filtration for when you are sanding and painting. Stuff is no good for your lungs.

I'm not sure why you want to run such stiff spring rates.

I went from 12k/10k fortune auto with swift springs, to 8k/6k GPSports with swift springs. Tucking rim on 17's with both setups, the 8k/6k rides way better, and doesn't bounce on bumps, thus making the low ride height even easier to drive with because it stays even with the ground instead of being so stiff and bouncy on the tires.

Also changed the Sealed Beams for the Raybrig Clear ones. Loves them! Kept them classic, with OE halogen bulbs.

After this, we began to install the new floor carpet replacement. I must admit, I've seen better in the past. The mold is okay, but not WOW. After all, wasn't so bad. A 8,5-9/10. Less than 1hr of job.

StockInteriors was the one I had a 10/10 review over the years! Unfortunately, I tried another company (www.1aautomotive.com) and like I said, the details aren't as good as SI.com. The 40-50$ I saved wasn't really worthy!

Those are OE brackets for Chuki sideskirts.

They tend to go missing due to age.

Another nice way to secure the skirts onto the car using the door sills.

I've also installed finally an NRG Quick Release, will be WAY easier for me to get in the seat ha! Wasn't sure about the long hub but love the look after all, and how it drives! Feels like a go-kart to have the steering close to me ! :D

Great wheels! And they did look pretty ragged in the first couple pics but you did a great job cleaning them up.

Everything is now removed from the bay, removed the dash as well.

Cancelling ABS module, A/C components, that's gonna be way cleaner.

Done a complete degreasing of the bay right before starting the FUN PART: Cutting!

First cut, right in half (16"-16") for 2 symmetric tubs.

Then, we've cut approximately another 4" on the bottom to get the desired height and length.

Well, here it is. Finally pulled the trigger on the engine I've dreamed for years.

2JZGTE Non-VVTI, set with R154 transmission.

Couldn't find a cleaner engine. Still with OEM timing belt and not cracked.
I assume engine as around 40-50k kilometres maximum. Nothing with oxydation, rust or anything.

Compression test 180 on 6 cylinders.

Prices went up recently.. Since the currency exchange USD/CAD is really bad.

Very satisfied on how fast it went and how good it is. Everything perfectly shaped and measured for symmetry on both sides.

Next time, we will finish the passenger side and continue the bay as well :)

Continued the front tubs, some more progress.

Started as well locating all the holes I'll be deleting/shaving, while keeping the bay OEM+.

Not a full shave, but cleaning the most that I can for the things I got rid or I'll be relocating.

Tubs are finally done (rough part of it), all undesired brackets holes - A/C & etc been welded and shaved.

Also started the rough flexible putty !

My friend also worked on it all afternoon while I was at work, so there was a lot of progress made! Pretty spoiled :)

Had to remove all the fibre putty, since we forgot to sandblast.

Did a first coating on the outside part of the tubs. Feels way more OE and smooth.

Applied some urethane and after all spread some gravel guard all over it. Will probably do a second shot on it but looks really good at the moment.

Today was totally XMAS time.

So spoiled to have friends like I have. They drove down to the borders to get an enormous stack of parts that was waiting for me!

The best part of it was mainly the Wiring Specialties 2JZ harness & my Ganadors :)

Every single buck was worth it for the harness. The attention for details is incredible. Speachless!
Can't thank enough Jeff for the incredible customer service and fast assembling! Got it in less than 3 weeks, I wasn't expecting that fast.
