View Full Version : Will my Rota Grids (18x9.5) clear 300zx brakes?

Hey folks,

So, I'm currently running Rota Grids 18x9.5 +22 with 5mm spacers on the front of my s14. The spacer is there so that the wheel doesn't foul the coilover.

My question is, I've just bought a 300zx 30mm brake kit to replace my puny stock s14 calipers, does anyone know if this is likely to cause any clearance issues? I can't seem to find anyone running a similar spec online?

Cheers,
Scott.

Just a heads up to anyone wondering, turns out that the 300zx calipers DON'T fit without a 15mm spacer. Oh well!

i guess it depends on the offset, cuz 300zx's come with like 16x7 wheels stock right

Well, they clear the actual bulk of the brakes no problem at all, it's the base of the spoke that causes the issue. The design of them means that they pretty much foul the wheel unless you're running spacers. I'll be at like +7 when I fit my new spacers.

I don't see why it won't fit, unless you physically tried it out.

because tons of EVO and STi dudes run those on their car in that size and it clear's their large brembo's just fine.

also while you are at it, you might as well do the 350Z rotor upgrade with Z1 performance caliper adapter. it'll push your calipers out further and should clear the spokes no problem, and you'll gain some braking performance on top

I have tried it out. 15mm is perfect, I think it's as you said, the size of the rotors means the bigger calliper are close to the spokes,/larger disc would certainly help but I didn't know this before I picked this stuff up. Live and learn I guess.
