I am picking up my first car and its a vert 240sx that has a 5 speed in it, like most people i want to drift it and was wondering on how the structure of the car would be, should i cage it or get bracing or do i not need any of that?:2f2f:

Best thing to do is buy a used NASCAR cage and bolt that in. Totes cheap and meet FD specs.

Not sure why every one is always concerned with FD specs when there not that lvl.
Vert's do have more bracing then non vert's do to the need of reinforcement. But putting a cage would not be a bad idea in case of an accident, is it needed to preform drifting no. Could it help you? yes.

Yeah I will more then likely drift it so should it just be a half cage or just get a full cage in? its going to be a daily driver/ drifter at times so I just wanna know what reinforcements it will need

What Nolan meant to say is you don't need a cage for drifting!
You can slide with out it!
But the car will certainly perform better.
There's a lot of things you have to take for count.

thats kinda what im asking will it flex more so should there be a cage to stiffen it up so it doesnt warp and flex badly? i know i can just slide it but i dont want to ruin the chassis completely

For every action there's a reaction. If you just reinforce the Center of the vehicle
It's going to flex at your next weeckes point. Just food for though.
