ANyone know which would be better... the HKS style
http://www.stockreco.com/Mvc-EWLBOW5f.jpg

or this one..

I would think the HKS style would be better since it seperates the openings, but it looks like the size of the piping that it combines into is sorta smaller at teh flange. on the other hand, the UNknown one is just a big pipe, similar to the Greddy/Trust unit but without the divider plate... as shown from pic from phase2motortrend..

Can anyone confirm which ebay special may be better?

my friend had both the HKS and the GREDDY one. he sold the HKS and likes the GREDDY better. he didn't explain why.

I think someone said one of them doesnt clear the steering column.. I dont remember which one it is tho... I just need one cuz I bought one of those fantastic ebay manifolds last year and never swawpped my motor yet..

the hks style one doesn't fit. you have to bang the shit out of it to make it clear the steering colum. And the pipe is only 2.5"

I would think that is a venturi in the HKS model.

hmmm funny that while researching I never came across that, well thats just gread, damnit. I will have to sell it i guess. but yah it pisses me off that it is so small, 2.5 inch like he said. it looks like a massive bottleneck.

I have the 2nd one... the generic one kinda like the Greddy but with no divider plate. I think it is from Megan Racing... It clears the steering column no problem. Feels more responsive than the stock turbo elbow.

I'd be curious to know if the divider makes a difference?

i run the greddy elbow and i have no problems with it. But then i put it in while doing my swap so i don't have much to compare to.

The HKS style DOES clear the steering column!!! It IS a tight fit and takes some patience and finesse to get it in place. I installed it when I did the swap so I have nothing to compare it to, BUT the separate wastegate gas design does make sense. As apposed to no devider and all the gases smackin each other causing turbulence...

I'm thinking about getting the greddy style ebay unit, and having a divider welded in.... I'm going KAT though, so I want to make sure I have plenty of clearance..

KA-T on a small t25/t28?? =X

it's been done...
makes a highly responsive engine and VERY decent power...

ka-t with that setup sounds nice to me.. you could run SR elbows, downpipes and maybe FMIC

some guy claims an 80hp gain with separating the internal wastegate gases completely...seems a bit overkill and hes a bitch anyway. but is there reall such a gain comparing a 'separated' to the hks style

drop the zero and i would still doubt 8hp,

was just wonder.. and also very sorry about the repost.. but yea.. the hks style one with the 2 seperate walls.. u guys stated that it is a 2.5 in in diameter and if u connect it to your 3in downpipe.. wont there be trouble fitting it on.. in my guess it would.. but to those who have tried it.. plz let me know...and the megan style 1.. will it fit properly onto a 3in as well?
