Ok i need an sr and this is my predicament, enjuku is out of motorsets and itll be atleast 2 weeks till they get more in, heavythrottle is sort of giving me conflicting answers so im not sure whts going on over there, but phase2 says they have redtop front clips in stock and ready to ship so my question is how do the two companies compare in quality. Ive heard lots of good stuff about enjku but not much about about phase2 so im just tryin to find out if this is a trustworthy company or not when it comes to swaps. Im jst trying to make sure i dont get stuck with a crappy motor or end up waiting forever to get one. Anyone thats ordered from pahse 2 before please let me know how it went and the quality of ur clip. Thanks in advance and i did try to search but kept coming up empty.

Phase2 is probably the most respected SR20det swap shop in Socal only equaled my Marco Vargas's SR20store.com .
I've known the owner for almost 8 years and i think u'll be in good hands with them. Ask anyone who has delt w/ them, that even if they don't like the pricing that the shop people have been helpful and fair to them.
From my experience w/ few different friends who got clips/motorset from phase2: 2x s14 zenki type (includes howard the sales guy) 1x S14 kouki type (my good budy gregshin on this board), 1xs13 chuki black (harp the stainlessteel line maker) and 1x S13 redtop (sillbeer.com owner ryan) all of those turned out good. Even if there is a problem wayne will work it out w/ customer.
also search freshalloy for stuff about them, there should be pages of it.

I am not ready to order my SR just yet (still need few parts before I get the motor), but those are the three companies I would trust to do bussiness over the web as far as getting a big thing like a motor. They all are good shops, with plenty of customers, so I have no problems recomending them.
i've made several purchases from enjuku recently, and will continue to do so.
as for motorswaps i dont know, that is something you should check out in person.

enjuku and phase2motortrend are very good companies in my book. I have bought alot of things this year from phase2 and some from enjuku. phase2 really helped out when I needed 550cc injectors that no one at the time had in stock. enjuku is also a great online company because they will at times match prices. And both of them have great personal.

i have done alot of business through enjuku and phase2, i would recomend either one, especially if you by a motor and something is wrong with it im more then sure they will work with you to fix. the other thing is if you do run into problems they will both try to help you as much as possible, heavy throttle every time i talked to them, they talk down to you, like your an idiot, thats my experience at least. anyways ive been buying stuff form ken and wayne for about 2 years, and 1st class products and services from both...

i dealt with heavythrottle when i got my s14 motor. I didnt really he any major truble with them. The only real problem was they told me 2 weeks to do the swap and it ended up taking 7.5 weeks. But the motor runs excellent and i have not had any mechanical problems yet.
I would say they are OK to buy a motor from but i wouldn't let them do my install again (rather do it myself).

phase2. when they say they have motors, they aren't kidding. A while before we left the states, Wayne was telling me he had no place to unload a container. I said 'what's in the container'. He said 'Oh, about 50 clips and motorsets..' I said.. 'I have a place you can unload them and store them indefinitely. It'll only cost you 2 clips!'
he didn't bite. :(
phase2 seems to carry a lot of stuff in stock, fairly friendly, they seem pretty busy all the time though so getting someone to talk to you on the phone takes a bit. heavythrottle has a lot of stuff too but they don't seem as helpful on the phone... but then they probably get a lot of calls with stupid questions.
I'd personally go look at a motor before buying it but since you don't have any places near you, i think either will have some quality engines to sell you. You just gotta trust their judgement.

I've dealt with all of them - all are good. I would choose Phase2 though, hands down. They know their shit, are very nice and helpful, and have competitive pricing. I've spent at least 6k there in parts, never a problem.

i just re-read my post.. it might come opff like i was bad mouthing heavythrottle.... I wasn't trying to bring that opinion across at all! I had a good experience with them. Jeff was very good with explaining all the situations they came across with my car and the time delay. It wasnt a big deal to me because they did alot of work and everything was great when done!
I would deal with them again without a problem.

[email protected] account gets bombarded w/ inquaries every so if you don't get a response in 1-2 days, it can be that they havent been able to get to your request yet (especially mondays). Try this address your info emails to Howard (the motorsales guy/ sales guy). ATTN: Howard (the duck).

Sorry for not replying your email fast enough, we are working to clear out all of our emails today (400+ of them), lately has been really busy for us and it seems like our normal '10 hour day' is just not enough.
As for front clips, currently we have 2 containers in bound with 20-25+ front clips (mostly S13 redtops) coming in this week, and we'll need at least several FULL days to full leak down test on all of the clips before we can sell them. Several redtops front clips are available in stock in our facility. If you do not hear us back via email in 48hrs, please try to call us (I know sometimes even calling is hard) but we're working to be as efficient as possible. We are not the cheapest when it comes to motors, but we can't afford to be cheap based on the amount of work and time invested in getting these in.
Enjuku and Heavy Throttle are great companies, if anyone buys motors from them you're in good hands.
Thanks.

I would refer both companies Enjuku or Phase 2. Either or would be great but I'm not a big fan of Heavy Throttle.

it really comes down to who is closest to you and who you feel like supporting, really. all of these businesses are being run by old-schoolers who have been a part of the 240SX community for a very long time.

I have spent thousands of dollars with Enjuku. Probably close to 10k by now, but I don't want to count the receipts. I usually call them before anyone else. I have dealt with Phase2 and they are really good as well. Enjuku gets a lot of their OEM parts from them. I've never bought anything from Heavythrottle but they gave me very vauge answers when I called them for intercooler info back a couple of years ago.
I'd wait for enjuku, unless you can see the engine you are going to getting.
