Well i got home today and my car smelled like it was overheating but my temp gauge was still at normal temp but there was all kinds of steam coming from under my hood. I tried looking for where it was coming from but couldnt really see. Im thinking maybe my waterpump went out? what do you guys thin it is?

it is time to take it to a mechanic.
with that description it could be anything and everything
wild guess, but it could be the driver

could be your water pump, or a lack of coolant. Your temp sensor may be unplugged or just not working. If you're not mechanically inclined, take it to a shop and have it diagnosed. Don't kill your engine.

So you just went ahead and bought a waterpump without figuring out what the problem was?

yea dude, he's a mechanic, dont question it!
its better to just do the trail and error, you eventually run into the problem after you end up with 5 new parts you diddnt need

Well actually the next morning i did let it run and thats when i found out it was the water pump i didnt check at night cause it was dark and no flashlight when did i say i was a mecahnic it only takes very basic skills to change the water pump out and it was only 40 bucks so no real big deal. But seriously why is everyone so quick to talk sit and get on someones case i came here for advice not to get flammed for asking a question. To everyone that gave me a straight answer thanks for all your help.

Probably because you gave the most vague description of what was wrong in the world.....

Aint a bad deal. My car has been having cooling issues for a little bit now. Think it cause my core is cracked.
