Hi,
I've owned a 93 Nissan 240sx se for the past seven years, and am thinking about getting a new Subaru GT soon, and started poking around the Web for 240sx info. It seems these cars have a following and are seen as desirable by customizers or something. They certainly are fun to drive. So what's the scoop? Should I post info about it and see what anyone here thinks it is worth?

you have a car. do with it what you will. depending on condition etc etc you might find intrested buyers. but Im kinda fuzzy on exactly what you want from this post? you want us to tell you why we like our car? convince you to keep yours? or just how much can you stick it to us for when you sell it?

My husband wants me to have airbags, so I'm going to sell it. It runs great. No rust. Interior has wear and tear. 151,000 miles. I'm just curious what a ballpark range might be. Kelley blue book gave me $2150 for a value. Does that sound reasonable?
I'm also just curious what typically people do to these cars when they modify them.

:) sell it to some ricer 240 bandwagonner for like 3k.
IMO, ideally if someone picked up your car they would modify it for track use. hpde, autocross or drift... whatever.
usually that entails:
basic maintenance
gutting the car
lots of suspension work and some chassis stiffening
new brakes / brake lines
some light wheels and sticky tires
new clutch, lightweight flywheel
track time!
power upgrades later
ok actually that's what i would do with it. it really depends on who you are selling it to; or if you want to get into this (nudge nudge) what you want to do with the car.
alot of ppl do stuff like:
engine swap
turbocharging
silvia front end (cosmetic)
unfortuanetly alot of ppl also do stuff like:
neon lights
fake turbo gauges
giant wings
gaudy bodykits
hope this answered ur question somewhat
With the wear and tear on it, you be looking at about $1700 to $2000. You want to know what people do to these 240's? I think the question should be, what can't you do to a 240sx? You already said it is a fun car to drive. It is a fun car to drive, just imagine an extra 100 horsepower to the car, and it won't neccessarily cost you an arm and a leg.

Thanks for the nudges, but I already have my heart set on a Subaru Legacy GT in a few months. And I'm not going to tear apart a car when I have no idea what I'm doing. I wouldn't mind recycling it into a second and cooler next life for somebody else, though.

good sell it to someone like me that actually wants to give it a good home rather than bastardizing it.

yes, make the willing mother feel shitty for wanting to give away her baby. lol
dhyana-honestly if its in pretty decent condition i would sell it in the local paper, but it woulndt hurt to throw it in the for sale section of several nissan forums. id ask $3K and be and if your hearts set on another car already, and you wanna let go of your car let the buyer talk you down a couple hundred bucks.
good luck!
