yep, these are legal here.. its chinatown in every town
http://www.pandagarage.com/grant/taiwan/arcade.jpg
"City Jungle", your typical arcade with an underground go kart track.. I had this crappy ass go kart that would slow down and cease to move with the wheel turned right (yea.. i got lapped soo many times :Owned: ).. bastards.. Anyways, managed to run the course zoolander style
Well after we were done karting, inspecting, and buying.. we realized the city bus stopped operating... and BEHOLD.. :tweak:

so true. last year when i went, it was so humid and hot back there. in almost 10 minutes of standing outside, my back and neck were wet with sweat.
btw if you're up north more near the mountains, the bus drivers are crazy as hell. they speed though narrow streets and up the mountain side.

Yea.. the small turtles are illegal stateside as they are prone to have salmonella, but lots of people get em at chinatown.
yep its hot and humid alright.. I'll hid indoors w/ air conditioning during day time. Pics are kinda blurry cuz the flash was turned off.. and the settings on the camera were out of whack.. but oh well.
bus drivers are still crazy.. they can instantly cut 2 lanes off on a city street.
That's not a real evo, hehe.. The taxi driver told us the real evo 8 didnt make it to Taiwan this this year.. He can't afford one yet.

at least in taipei, the lines on the road are arbitrary. nobody really actually 'stays in lane.' red means go if nobody is coming, during any time of the day.
i remember driving with my uncle down this NARROW ass alley with cars parked on both sides. he was doing like 50mph clipping other ppls rear view mirrors and laughing about it. i was scared shitless.
since i'm taiwanese my family has had alot of dialogue on just 'wtf is wrong with taiwan.' no social respect... ppl just do whatever they fucking want. i kind of hate what taiwan's become...

in taiwan its fuckin crazy! some asshole almost ran me over. i was walking through a street and it was a red light for about a minute or two and he just drove right through it. everyone around me just shrugged it off and acted as if nothing happened. makes me wonder about the drivers..... chinese drivers man..... dont worry im chinese and i cant drive for shit anyways. IF U WANNA GO TO CHINA HIT UP SHANGHAI! friend told me that girls fall all over u especially if ur foreign. plus their "love affection" is accumulated with money. like in order to get a kiss from them u need to spend this much on them. they keep track and share with eachother how much their man has spent on them. kinda whack but who cares theyre hot. PLUS NIGHT CLUBS ALL OVER AND HOT GIRLS ALL OVER U! I MEAN WHAT ELSE COULD U ASK FOR... (besides a car or those turtles :D)

Well in my opinion, there's good and bad about any countries, every place has its flaws.. Looking aside from a lot of the stuff that happens, Taiwan is not really that bad of a place, althought fist fighting and chair throwing legislators can seem a lil overboard sometimes.

in the US we call that at worst prostitution and at best gold digging. those chicks are hoping you'll marry them so they can come to the USA, import their whole damn extended family with them (using your money) and then divorce you and take half your money. its sort of a tragic running joke among chinese...
grant, funny how asians are so low key in the US, but in taiwan the congressmen are throwing shoes at each other... lol.

are you sure it was an evo? the flanks rear fenders look like a regular lancer... and being from Taiwan I know theres alot of fake evos there :D
I have seen WRX taxis, M3 taxis, and my favorite, a pimped out AMG E class with tvs in the headrest
go to Roxy, should last I heard it was the hottest spot... last time I was there was this last winter
I miss Taiwan :(

haha yah it was a fake evo, the kid driving said he couldnt afford the real thing yet, it is funny seeing all the fixed up lancer virages driving around.
s15dude
08-06-2004, 10:45 AM
yes, virage is the luxo package for the lancers I believe, kinda like a mix of how they used to call lancers in US the mirage or sumthing...
Grant
08-06-2004, 11:07 AM
It was not and lancer virage, and it's not a kid.. s15dude can exaggerate quite a bit at times. The price of a normal mitsubishi lancer there can reach about $20000 (US) (virage costs even more). The income that taxi drivers receive isnt exactly premium rates ($3-5US per taxi ride), so i can understand 100% why nobody's driving around in a real evo VIII taking people around town.
Virage was a different model. it was a more upscale packages versus the typical lancers. kinda the way a lexus es300 isnt a toyota camry unless one has to be stubborn enough to call it that, or an infiniti g20 versus a sentra. other than lexus, I havent seen many other "premium brands."

anyways another pic at the taipei sports bar. Its owned by a guy names Ray Thomas (originally from Indiana).. It was a great place.. good food, drinks, a pretty waitress Bonnie (left) and pretty bartender Queen (right) :P
Queen is also a navigator for a Peugeot rally team here in Taiwan.

Lancer Virage, is basically like the State's Mirage, but i think it has Mivec (Mitsubishi Intelligence Valve Electronic Control) something like that, kinda like Honda Vtec. I see bunch of em in Taiwan when i was there back in 2002. Also they have alot of Imprezas, but is still old style one with 1.8 turbo in it (not 2.0) alot of supdup Taxis indeed. I also saw MBZ AMG C-class pigs car too. I wish i could drive there, it will be great experiance to learn how to drive aggessively and follow car with only 1" space to the rear bumper of the other car.lol Also like squeeze in to small alleys and park super tight spaces. Only thing I drive over there was my God Father's 50cc Scooter (moped), what a threal, but super dangerous, Have alot of sup dup scooters too. I had pick up some performance parts for my Honda scooter in the U.S. The parts makes my scooter goes from stock top speed 35mph to 60mph+ with mad power that lift the whole scooter up.
