Hey everyone.

:picardfp:

i'll get straight to the point, I recently bought a 95 s14 it's in rough shape but it runs. The engine is straight it was rebuilt 90k miles ago (2 owners ago).

It has a salvaged title from a front end accident it was supposedly fixed but after tearing it apart myself the radiator frame (front bumper) is just trashed.

The wiring is so bad i'm just assuming i'm going to need to get a new wiring harness since the alternator doesn't always get power to turn the car on. Just looking for some advice on what would be most efficient on getting this 240 back on its feet.

I know im going to have to go through and redo all of the suspension but im just looking to get the car in shape to get me from point A to point B, not looking to drift or take it to any events at this time. So as of now my first step is buying a new exhaust and fixing the camber and height. What do you guys think? (P.S anyone know an estimate for a harness install? I hear its pretty complicated to do on your own)

Your biggest issue is going to be finding the parts to piece that front end together. I bought a zenki two months back that WASN'T wrecked, just missing parts of the core support and crash bar and I JUST NOW got everything I needed. You're even worse off just to shoot it straight. In my mind you have two options. Part the car out and try to recoup as much as you can, or stay. The forums/ face book/ Ebay and hope to get lucky. But it's going to be a long hard search for the things you need. Good news is, The engine harness is an easy fix through Wiring specialties. And the suspension crap is all available through aftermarket/ upgrades.

As far as wiring goes, you can get a nice wiring harness from wiring specialties. That's where I got my 2jz harness into a 95 240 and it's amazing. If you decide to go this route pm me and I get get you a 10% discount

Fortunately for you Zsoon, you live in the state that sold more 240s than any other state in the US. Check out all the salvage yards you can and maybe you will get lucky

Plus one for salvage yards an eBay for cost. If you are doing swap why not take out the engine an do all the repair work prepping toward the swap...no sense in doing work twice.

Thanks for taking the time to reply guys, appreciate it.

Yea i'll check out the junk yards here and see what I can salvage but as far as the front end goes, I found the OEM front bumber off enjuku racing for around 500$

I'll definitely look at wiring specialties to compare prices, enjuku Ka24de harness was around 350$ i believe.

Also I don't plan on swapping this 240, I would just turbo the KA. IF I decide to go down that long and irritating road hah.

So I checked out wiring specialties and the prices are the same, would rather go through them if i'm able to get that 10% discount. However would the s13 harness match up with the s14. I know its the same engine but doesn't the s14 have extra plugs that the s13 doesn't?

They should have a 14 harness too. What harness do you need? Cabin, engine, or chassis?

Alternator harness is part of the lower/transmission harness.

To be 100% honest I am not sure, but my engine bay has some loose wires and just looks like it needs a new harness, possibly engine and trans. Does the cabin harness include the cluster as well? because my gas and speedo doesn't work but that could just be the cluster itself.

I'll see if i can get some pictures posted tomorrow just so you guys can see what i'm working with.
