Gumball run. Where a group of exotics rides driving from coast to coast in the US and Europe. Going balls out most of the way. Cops chasing them usually. Huge road trip. I rented it from Hollywood video. Wasnt to impressed. Would be cool to be in though. Few years back saw them in DC when they came to Union Station. www.gumball3000.com

typical response by just about anyone who envies those videos, or shall i say, typical response that anyone uses when they have something and THINK everyone else wants what they have.

no, i dont get impressed by seeing porsches drive on the side of the road. i get impressed by watching best motoring videos where you see cars being driven and spoken about by people who understand the engineering that goes into each car, let alone each modification (and its pros and cons).

I still get really impressed by those kinds of cars. I never see those kinds of cars ever. I've seen only a handful of the newer porsches in my lifetime, and have only seen 1 lamborghini. I've never seen a skyline R32->R34, not a carshow or on the road. what they're doing seems like a lot of fun when looked at objectively. but then since i've started auto-xing lately, and have discovered how insanely fun it is, i have found myself thinking about the gumballers, "so this is where they put their cars to best use..." and I say, "if i had a car like that..imagine how great it would be on the track." i guess in some ways, they're just flaunting their money and speedy cars just as people around here buy luxury cars on chrome twenties and think they're hot ish.

I've seen just about all the exotics in the video either on the streets or at the track or at car shows... Still awesome to see but I was never really crazy about exotics.

Notice in the middle of the 3rd episode for a split second, there is a R33 Skyline GT-R tailing another car. :)

In 2003 when they were leaving SF, I saw a bunch of them pulled over by highway patrol and some being towed. And a bunch of Honda ricers trying to race the exotics... that was pretty interesting :)

I haven't downloaded any of the linked vids here...but:

I can only assume that footage was recorded by the guys at "IMV Films", as Torquenstein hired them to capture his gumball experience...and it was used by a Euro TV show documenting the Gumball.

Anyway, "IMV Films" consists of a few good friends of mine...they did a video of a local Supra racing a GT3 on the highway (Lonman, driver of the silver Porsche GT3 that does a lot of donuts), and it made it's way to the Gumball producer.

They used the footage, and it's in the "Gumball 3000" movie. We all went to the movie premiere in LA this past February, and that's where we met "Torquenstein" and they got that gig...

Anyway...they're putting out a 2nd DVD in a few months...Gumball footage, street stuff, and a few other "skits" (we rallied, flipped, and burnt one of the guys mother's car...a chopped up Subaru)...check 'em out here if you like that kind of stuff:
