Buddy of mine asked me to take a look at his AC unit today as he was hearing a loud clicking sound coming from his Heating and A/C unit every time he turned it on. After doing a quick diagnostic, I was able to determine that the Bi-Level Door motor assembly on the Heating & A/C unit was responsible for making all that loud clicking noise. I wasn't able to fix it due to lack of part & lack of time.......
Question I have to ask though is, has anyone ever had to replace the Heating & A/C Bi-Level Door Motor unit, ( located behind the stock radio), on a 95 S14? How easy, (or difficult), is it to replace? Am I going to have to disassemble the entire dashboard / heating & a/c unit to get to it? Or is there an easier way to access the door motor unit?? It looks like there are two screw holding the unit in but I'm not sure if there is a third screw behind the unit. I wasn't able to remove the unit as I didn't have much time to work on it and I didn't have the part to repair it with, so I decided not to bother.
Anyhow, I'd appreciate if anyone has any info on how to swap this part out & make the repair. Is it just two screws holding it in or do I have play contortionist to try to spot the third screw?? Any info would be greatly appreciated.
TIA
