S13 gear grinds sometimes

Hi fellow s chassis I'm new to 240 I got a brand new clutch and flywheel a year ago and recently sometime when I put it into gear it grinds a little and goes away it grinds sometimes only it is annoying and I'm worried. o yea only in 1st and 2nd then when i shift to 3rd goes away after grinding a little more.Pleae let me know what problem is grinding a little more

The grinding you are describing sounds like its coming from the transmission. In case if you didnt know, but a manual transmission has brass gears that engage/disengage each and every gear. the grinding you are describing is the brass gears meshing up against each other as you are engaging. This means that your brass gears will need to be replaced. if you continue to drive without fixing the issue, you may end up trying to shift into second gear and it wont engage. Then you no longer have a second gear, this could happen to any gear that is currently grinding. Please consider taking it to a transmission shop to get the brass gears replaced or possibly do it yourself. good luck

It's hasn't been doing it for a few days now... Idk if I should take it to a shop how would I see if I need tranny fluid?

There is only one way to really inspect your tranny fluid and that is by draining the transmission oil and inspecting it for brass/metal shavings. Considering it was grinding for a while then quit doesnt mean the problem has gone away and is fixed. You will have to attend to this problem in the future. So by not fixing it you are just pushing your luck until something does break. Fixing it now would save you a headache in the future!
