Who of you have purchased an aftermarket bash bar and what are your thoughts? I'm look at the following:
Drift Armor
http://www.enjukuracing.com/products/drift-armor-front-bash-bar-nissan-240sx-s14-95-98.html
$150+shipping
Dangdrifters
http://dangdrifters.com/wp/?page_id=45
$150 shipped
Street faction
http://streetfaction.bigcartel.com/product/street-faction-s14-front-bash-bar
$150+$60 shipping in the US.
Personally I don't think there is a lot of don't think there is a ton of difference and shipping is the main piece playing a roll in my current choice of the dang drifters model. Please give me some input as I don't drift or normally buy these sort of parts.
Thanks in advance,
Dave

in real world applications, these won't help much, if your car is lowered.
it'll miss the bar, and smash everything above it.

Why not use the OEM joint?

I have cutout my front core support for accessibility the function of this is to add back the little bit of structure it had and to give me a basis for the headlights/bumper etc.
This is how you see my car when looking through the core support.

they are all going to get the job done. i like street faction the best because i know how good his welds are. and he uses .120 wall so its a little beefier. all comes down to the one you like the best

Great captain obvious. Neither will a oem stock support/bar.

Well if I haven't lowered my car, would there be any benefit between the two, maybe gaining a few MPGs with the lower weight of the bb?

I would weld in a removable core support(that ties into each strut tower), without it your strut towers are going to flex a ton. I dont feel that a bash bar is going to give you the structure you're after.

I would at least always want a two level bash bar, otherwise you leave your intercooler exposed to danger if you are running a front mount.
This is a DL Garage bash bar.

Looks like I'll be purchasing a dangdrifters bash bar since it fits the OEM bumper. Streetfaction says their bar doesn't support OEM bumpers.

If running turn signals watch out for bars that don't allow them.

Street Faction bash bars are designed to fit oem and other aftermarket bumpers with zero modifications. And that's a fact.
I have one on my S13. I've had the K's and Q's silvia bumper and the bar fit both perfectly.

So you're confirming that the Street Faction bash bars fit under the pignose and sharknose bumpers too?

Was mostly showing that fact that it was a 2 bar front bash bar and it protects more then a single does.
Although that was a custom made one per his aftermarket bumper. I think the price was around 250 or so (checked) all said and done including materials. Fits the front bumper perfect, allows for no sagging. Different colors would have been available.

I went with dang drifters due to price and general similarity between them all. Thus far the customer service has been lack luster. After sending a few emails since my purchase came up "failed" on their website, but the money leaving my paypal and going to a person not just an email I called. He got back to me shortly and said oh wow yeah u did order and pay for a bar. Said he would get me tracking info by Friday... No tracking info, email, or call. Yeah it's a cheap part at $150, but a customers first experience will get you repeat business.
As far as my strut towers go I am fabbing up a solid strut tower bar and doghouse reinforcement that ties into it. Gotta get the car running first though.

i might get crap for this, what's a doghouse reinforcement, never heard of that before

i say that cause i also emailed street faction for my new chuki bumper, and he told me it fits oem chuki bumper without the top bar which is designed for aftermarket bumpers only.

Your doghouse is the firewall between the engine bay and the passenger compartment.

For clarification sake, I finally got a reply back and the bash bar will fit and clear the lights. However, it won't support your OEM bumpers from sagging.

Street Faction bars clear signal lights for any front end.
Looks like I'll be purchasing a dangdrifters bash bar since it fits the OEM bumper. Streetfaction says their bar doesn't support OEM bumpers.
Our bars don't support OEM pop up plastic bumpers, the upper support isn't effective at holding the entire bumper up due to the flexible nature of the OEM material. It will sag in other locations. They do fit behind OEM bumpers, they just won't support them Properly.
The s13 bar with upper support is designed to support fiberglass bumpers which are naturally rigid. We have sold many s13 bars with upper support and everyone loves them. They clear signal lights and many odd design bumpers such as origin streamline.
wait, who told you streetfaction doesn't fit oem bumper? i was told they did, the one that doesn't fit oem bumpers is the one with the upper bar for aftermarket bumpers.
You are correct, our s13 bar with upper support will only support aftermarket fiberglass bumpers for the pop up front end. The silvia, zenki, and kouki bars will all support oem and aftermarket bumpers.
Street Faction bash bars are designed to fit oem and other aftermarket bumpers with zero modifications. And that's a fact.
I have one on my S13. I've had the K's and Q's silvia bumper and the bar fit both perfectly.
^^^ He knows me pretty well and has a s13 bar on his silvia supporting both his oem bumpers And clearing the signals.
So you're confirming that the Street Faction bash bars fit under the pignose and sharknose bumpers too?
Yes they do fit behind pignose and shark nose bumpers.
i say that cause i also emailed street faction for my new chuki bumper, and he told me it fits oem chuki bumper without the top bar which is designed for aftermarket bumpers only.
The bar with upper support will still fit under the oem chuki bumper but won't support it properly compare to a fiberglass bumper.
For clarification sake, I finally got a reply back and the bash bar will fit and clear the lights. However, it won't support your OEM bumpers from sagging.
This is correct.

Ive got a drift armour bar and it does its job. Fits with turn signals on the pignose and has survived two significant hits without major damage.
