ok, i just picked up my 89 240sx hatch, and heeeere's the problem...

the shocks are known to be bad, and i have some working stock shocks with some tein springs on the way to me... BUT, i have a sneaky feeling this wont cure my problem...

when i accelerate from a stop, or even downshift and slow down with the engine, i get a pretty good shake, and almost hop from the rear end. now i can accept the fact that the shocks are blown, and probably contributing to this, but it seems more than it should be.

also when i corner and exit the turn with much more than any throttle i get a violent hop that doesnt go away until i let off the gas completely...

now from my searches i have come up with the idea that my subframe bushings may be shot, and that my rear shocks are damaged (this i know).

since i already have the shocks on the way, but mods can i put on the car to help eliminate this hop so i can start to sling this car around a bit?

so far i know i am gonna get some of the subframe spacers from the GB, but what bushings are reccomended, and from whom? also, will strut tower bars, sway bars, or any other suspension parts help this problem. i want to get rid of my hopping rear, and get rid of some of my understeer.

my plans for the car are to totally pimp out suspension and brakes and then start working on the motor....

WHAT IS YOUR ADVICE GUYS?

Just buy new suspension parts from SPL or any other of the places that make them. In the front check your tie rod bushings, T/C rod bushings and pretty much every bushing on the car. Search for ppl's experiences with them and look in the reviews section also. In the Archive/FAQ section there are writeups of some suspension parts also.

Welcome to the board.

More oversteer, you could get a rear anti-roll bar.

Wheel hop, upgrade bushings.....
