I have an 89 sohc HUD car and I am swapping a 93 ka24de into it, so I used the tach from the analog cluster. Just wanted everyone to know that if they want to do this, getting a dohc HUD cluster will make the tach swap a lot easier. the analog tach is bigger so you have to remove the tach needles and switch the gauge faces. Use the longer needle from the dohc tach so the gague stays accurate. The needles just pull out if you are careful, but you need to put it back exactly as it was or it won't read correctly.
The plus for this is that you get the low redline on the sohc face but you can rev out the dohc engine, so you get the impression that you are realling wringing the engine out. which is useless on the ka. but still fun.
anyway I thought that might help someone.
