So I recently swapped a redtop sr20det into my NA Miata and now my goal is to make 300whp using a reliable build. I have read a lot of threads regarding this matter and have come to the conclusion that there are a handful of specific parts to complete this goal: bigger injectors, t28 or other comprable turbo, z32 maf, and general piping in regard to intercooler and exhaust.

As of right now, I have a Walbro 255 fuel pump, 3 inch catless exhaust (stock down pipe though), and a fmic.

I just found a set of 550cc Nismo injectors for $250 and I was wondering if these would suit this build. Also, if anyone had any advice on any other specific parts that I would need to complete this build, I would greatly appreciate it.

Thanks in advance,
Austin

Hey Austin,

I can help you out. This is the "recommended" list that i usually give my customers to make a healthy reliable 300HP.
Fuel:
Walbro 255LPH Fuel Pump
Nismo 740cc Injectors (550cc minimum)
Z32 Fuel Filter
New Fuel Lines
Breather Mods:
Ported Stock Manifold (tubular manifolds work fine too but tend to crack after a few years)
GT2871 or GTX2867 if you don't mind the extra coin for better spool and more power
Tomei Turbo Elbow
3" Turbo Back Exhaust
Upgraded Intercooler (we prefer Greddy and Blitz, Godspeed CX Racing work but are heavy)
Engine:
Tomei PonCams
Tomei MLS Head Gasket
ARP Head Studs
Drive Train:
RPS Sport 6 puck clutch (JWT Flywheel + Z33 clutch for maximum comfort)
Electronics:
AEM PNP V2 with Boost Control Kit

Alternatively:
Nistune ECU
Z32 MAF
Blitz SBC-iD SpecR Boost controller

if you go the GT2860RS route with the 550cc injectors you'll pretty much be tapped out on the setup that's the main reason i recommend the GT2871R however the rest of the engine will be able to handle around 400hp. if you choose to go the GTX2867 route the 740cc injectors will be close to their limit and so will your pistons if you crank up the boost on race gas.

Awesome! Thanks for the help, Scott. I will definitely look into this build list. Also, in regard to injectors, my friend just offered to give me a set of stock 550cc injectors from his 2jz for free and I was curious as to whether they would work and be sufficient with this build.

Don't need cams for 300 hp but the rest is solid

2JZ GTE injectors are not interchangeable with Nissan fuel rails.

P.S. Don't cheap out, if you don't have money to do it right do you have money to do it twice?

Hey Scott, can you explain more about "New Fuel Lines" recommendation?
