Hey, i'm gonna get an s14 by the end of like this year.. so i had a few questions about it.
i read it had better internals and more torque than the s13's, and same horsepower.. but is the engine really that much better? cuz i read about the ca18's and the sr20's and all of them seem better compared to the ka24de, even thou its got more displacement... shud i like get forged pistons and stuff? tks for any comments

All KA24DEs have the same horsepower and torque output. Forged pistons? What do you wanna do with the engine: swap, turbo, NOS?

Personally, I think a lot of people who don't like the KA, don't like it cause it's an American only engine...and they feel shafted by not getting the SR.
  I think Nissan did us a favor.   My insurance is cheaper then my 91 Ford Escort, yet it ought to be.  But when you slap a nice turbo in there.....whoa.  
  From reading everyone's post in the last year, bought mine in October 00, they seem to be about equal, just depends on whether you want a smooth revving, or torque-monster.  supposedly the KA has a wider power band.  Also, it also costs just about the same either way...the only reason it costs more to turbo the KA, is becuase usually people build the engine, and pump up the HP.
  I also think it depends on where you are personally with your car.  When I bought it, I killed the engine, and put a new one in....before I knew better...now I have a brand new KA with less then 10k.....should I still put the SR in?  I think no, I'll turbo it.  If I had my old engine....oh yes, I'd just do the swap....it just makes more sense for me not to right now.

i was just wondering what type of engine was more durable/stronger
cuz i kept hearing the ca18's were, and i was also wondering if i .. practically bullet proofed the ka24.. would it be able to handle somewhat beyond decent boost.. cuz i like kthe larger displacement <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/smile.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':)'>

The KA can handle boost well, it has it's probablems like any other motor but if you get a turbo kit for it, I doubt you would be unhappy.

lol you don't know what spandex is? LOL. I learned what they were back in teh nutty professor. No wait i think even before that. It's like that stuff chcichs and some guys wear at teh gym's and its really tight and thin. mmmmmmm. Rembbereing the good times at the gym watching the ladies work out and you can see inbetween. Hehehe, the reason yer finding the CA18 and the SR20 with better specs is that we l'il &quot;t&quot; at the end of the engine specs, plain and simple. And SR20DE (sentra engine) is even less respectable than the KA24DE (240sx and 4 cyl pickup engine).
