My cousin took my 98 Kouki out last night in the pouring rain and was doing donuts. After a couple of turns the wheels started gripping and he clutched in and braked. After the car would go into gear without having to depress the clutch pedal. With the car on it can go into 1-5 gears without grinding or stalling while the car is on and not disengaging the clutch but it will grind in reverse.

The clutch bite point was super close to the top and I had issues with the clutch slipping every once and a while while trying to launch the car.

Any help is appreciated and I am currently looking through the "search" function.

After searching around I have concluded there could be 3 or more problems, please tell me if I am missing anything else:

Check clutch master fluid
Check for kinks in clutch line
Check for slave cylinder leak

I'm kind of confused here. Are you saying that he beat on the car, got the clutch hot, then stopped, and while the car was on you could change gears without turning the car off, and not have the clutch pedal pushed in?

Check clutch pedal adjustment screw under the pedal.

+1. After breaking in my stock Exedy clutch on my old setup, it randomly started slipping on the highway one day well after break-in period. I simply adjusted the pedal and it held for another year or so of beating on it until I went KA-T and RB25 clutch. Might also be worth bleeding your clutch line.

I'll go check it right now. The car still smells like burned clutch.

When I sat in it again I put it in gear and released the pedal and it sounded like the clutch was rubbing on the flywheel but it isn't going anywhere because there is no material left.

Thanks for the fast response guys.
