So I bought an sr20det that was rebuilt. Didn't have arp headstud so I pulled it apart and decided to make sure the timing chain was set properly at the same time. Pulled the oil pans, front cover and head and set the gold link on the crank and the two black links on the cams. paid very close attention to ensure the chain didn't slip a tooth or anything. The #3 intake cam lobe is almost at the full open position when it binds. Looking at the crank, the #1 piston is almost to TDC meaning the #3 should be nowhere near the valves. it didn't bind before I tore it down. I'm gonna start with removing the cams and reinstalling them to see if that alleviates the binding. Has anyone experienced this or have any other advice before I tear it down to a short block again?

Disregard I figured it out. I will admit when I do something stupid and post for all others to enjoy. To pull the crank pulley I installed two flywheel bolts to wedge a screwdriver between to keep the crank from spinning while breaking the torque. I forgot they were still there and they were catching on my engine stand. At least I caught it before tearing anything apart.
