I bring my 240sx in for a simple oil change and they over fill it by 2 quarts. I check the dip stick and it's half an inch over high.
I bring back the car the next week because of a new leaking oil problem caused by the over fill, never leaked before, I ask the one service guy to check my oil level he states it is on the high side, I ask for the service manager and he dosnt come outside tells me to come inside, states he will fix everything next week, I tell him no you will fix now. I leave car and get a call later to come see car. Service manager states there are old leaks on the tranny and rear seal. I tell him never has the car left a puddle of oil on the ground untill now after they over Filled the oil. He proceeds to show me by draining oil out and guess what only 4 quarts come out now and with new oil in the dip stick shows perfect levels. Hmmmmm. You think. I saw the guys lower the car from the lift when I came back and the guy checks the dips stick and moves the car into another lift and lifts car in the air. Sevice manager takes pics. Dah!!!!? And ontop of this I ask the service manager do you always lift cars like this because your bending my pinched seam welds? He states yes... lol I took pics... Idiots...

By the way I have owned over 20 240s including Silvia's, GTIRs, Skylines, and I bought my new z here last year... My 240 is my commuter, untouched OEM 93 240sx coupe 2 nd owner.
Got my oil change trusting a Nissan dealership were I bought my car and it was only $20...

Some of us don't have time to change it ourselves. Kids and demanding jobs take up a lot of time.

The only reason I ever pay to have my oil changed is when it's cheaper than I can buy the oil myself.

Not calling foul, I have a hard time believing a few quarts over will suddenly cause leaks (I have both inadvertantly and purposefully done it on several of my cars and never had an oil leak. I had the extra oil burn off in some instances, but never an actual leak).

They may have done other deeds to promote the leaks however.........

And yes. Thats why i dont take my car to the shop! Except for things like balancing, alignment ectect and i watch them like a hawk. No offense OP. $11.99 for 5quarts plus filter from 3-12 . Hows that not cheaper. It takes literally, 10 mins to change your oil. No time?even pooping takes longer than that. Laziness doesnt = no time😜

so are you just going to ignore the fact that 20+ year old rear main seals don't leak?

Time is money. The time it takes me to buy oil jack up my car drain it, recycle oil clean up
doesn't always work out for me. The only reason I do it myself is because I don't trust anyone. At least at a dealership you have a better chance of them not messing things up by not over tightening stripping fucking shit up. Sucks that when it comes to having your car properly serviced its almost near impossible unless you have a trusted mechanic.

It shouldn't be his fault that he had an issue with the oil change because he is a busy man. Thats why you hold people accountable so that way it happens less often and businesses adapt their practice and make things right.

Yeah i get it it.
MY garage is full of toys i have to move it all around just to do a simple oil change.
This is my 2oth or more 240 research all my cars on here, Its just i thought since i bought a new car there and for $20 bucks i could eat some pop corn and go on my way. They have done my Z many times.
MY motor is going to be fully built later.
Just sucks they pinched the seam welds.
How would you like to get your car wash and some one kicks the doors in?
Sure you can wash your own car but when you dont have the time but have money you want the respect.
Even though i have a new Z mild mods, I still would like my 93 240 to be taking care of the same way.

If this was a Mercedes they would of been fired.

O well i guess i guess i get free mods from there mistake and a little cash.
