Damn that, the farthest I drove was around 6-700miles in one sitting. And when I got there, I was still hearing the car's engine and seeing lane lines from the road for the next 30min.

Pensacola Florida to Harrisburg Pennsylvania, 23 hours. Moving truck had a govener that wouldn't let it go over 55mph, and came across 9 different accidents that blocked traffic. At one point I saw a mile marker, blinked and saw another mile marker, but there were 5 miles between the two that I didn't see. Longest day of my life.

Is this a "what is the farthest you have ever driven" thread? Because I believe, my son, that I have you beat... June of 2000, I drove from Greensboro, NC to Cape Canaveral, FL stopping only for gas 2 times and for breakfast in St. Augustine in the rental van... Some family members and I were going on a cruise to the Bahamas and I guess I drew the long straw as the guy who got to drive first. We set out about 930-1000pm and got there around 830-900am. I'd napped all day in expectation of having to drive a long stretch while everyone slept and I would let whichever licensed driver woke up first would drive from there... My luck had it that the only person to wake up BEFORE we got to St. Augustine was my cousin who didn't drive and I wound up wheelman for the whole shit. 10+ hours, 600+ miles... Beat it bish

i drive for my job. campus escort service, i'm in my shitty ford focus for 7-8 hours a day, 4-5 days a week during the summer. granted its not driving on the freeway straight for hours on end at 80mph, but its just about as boring.

The worst is when i have to work (i work at night) after a drift event or coming back from a trip. The last two events i woke up at 5:30am, do the event till 5pm go to work till 1am.

Actually, my dad drove from Cali to reno and back in one day to go to a truck show there. thats what, like 11 hours each way. stopped in the middle for 3 hours to go to the show and came right back without a break. My dad is a freak like that, he told me that a couple years back they were doing experiments with engine oil for a company and drove non stop with a codriver for 24 hours in China (without engine oil).

damn. i got 400 miles under my belt stopping once for gas.

although, hint to every would be no to let new licensed driver drive for you.
last time my family went to las vegas there was a family who let thier newly licensed son drive for the father. let's just say the family got there minus the father. he fell out of the rv and no one noticed him missing until the ambulance got there. he was under the car dead.

HAHAHAHA ! ! I know what you mean. I did a rb20 swap for 22hours straight. From start to finish. And the previous night I got 4hrs of sleep, so on the 18+ hour I started hearing voices, and on the 21-22nd hour, I sat in the car to start it, and watched the speedo start accelerating, I shook my head and looked at it again and nothing... I am never going to work on a car for that long straight again.

No shit ha ... I would hate to see what those guys go through.
But it's nice on I5 going like 100mph with the flow of the midnight traffic racing a integ wrx 5 or 6 trucks and a couple of people that shouldn't be going that fast ...aka mom in the minivan.

I hear they get good money, but what kind of life is that. I think it is 49cents a mile, X 1500miles = 735$perday

CDL operators cannot drive more than a certain amount per day..less than 12 hours..I forget what the legal limit is...

I drove to a concert (600 miles one way) and after the concert drove strait back. Stooopid!!! I swore I saw a little old man walking with a cane in the middle of the road while I was doing 75MPH...scared the shit out of me.

You will see things. I think I posted this before on a funny as hell thread about 2 years ago...

I just got back Tues morning from a non stop trip to indianapolis from cali. Total miles both ways is like 4,300 miles or so. Took about 40 hours driving the company F 350 and hauling a 52ft trailer with two cars in it. There were 3 of us. More like 2 1/2 the one of the guy's basically slept the whole way there and back.

i know some big rigs have two drivers, there is a mini sleeping compartment behind the driver seat that actually looks pretty comfy.

Okay then, now tell me that when you got there, you checked in with the cruise people, shot the shit a couple hours, got on a boat and went on a cruise... NOBODY sleeps on a cruise very long, if at all. I know I didn't get mush more than 8-10 hours of sleep over 4 days and 3 nights.

boo fuckin' hoo. I'm not talking about what happened AFTER the drive. I'm talking about the drive.
(I slept for about 8 hours and continued restarted my normal sleeping schedule.) Did I mention that I'd just driven from New Orleans to San Antonio the previous day?

I drove 410'ish miles when I was 15 with my dad, no stops for anything. Got to the final destination, my car still had 40 miles left to go...

My dad drove from Dallas, Texas to Wisconsin. 18 hours, 1360 miles one way. First time he didn't stop at all. Coming back he stopped for 3 hours to sleep.

The longest drive I had was 27 hours (1700 miles) from St. George, UT to Indianapolis, IN. The 2 days were split up to 17hrs and 10hrs. I've also driven to New York, which was 12hrs or about 800ish miles

I think my father has you all beat. Drove from Va Beach to Detroit, spent the night at my grandparents house, left there and went to Bangor, Washington non-stop. This was in a brand new 2004 F-150 in winter time may i add.

longest drive for me in my 240 is... I forgot how long...
All I remember was that I went from college station, texas.. up to Wyoming (close to yellowstone) straight... (some rest area stops though), and then my 240 got stuck in a ditch somewhere on a snowy mountain...
Waited for 3 hours in a snow storm until someone with a 4x4 helped me out.
I remembered what he said though ,"(looking at my lisence plate) You're from Texas!, no wonder you're stuck in the snow (then he smiled and towed my car) "

... Sorry Kevin

melbourne fl to greenville NC, one stop for gas and potty break.
I dunno where in FL Melbourne is, but I know that you'd have had to pass Greensboro on the way to Greenville and then travel another 2 1/2 hours, you got me there...

... btw, grown men don't "potty"
