kinda Quintin Tarantino-ish.

So before i start "BASICALLY" what it started as was a drift build.
I always wanted to start another hobby.
Since i had the training i knew it could be done.
Also being a true enthusiast as the build got closer
i just couldnt let myself destroy a clean s13.

End of suspension
So at this point i couldnt sleep i kept thinking what i really wanted to do with the car.
After some heavy thinking i really wanted a car i can enjoy and say i built for myself to enjoy and have for awhile.
With my close ties with Nissan and Nismo i decided to go ahead and start building a kouki 180sx type X.
All brand new parts from Nismo.:naughty:

PART 2 :RANDOM PART ADDICTION!!!
So by this time i got pretty good with the nissan FAST system
and how to look up all the parts id need.
I actually learned my VIN# by heart just to make it easier to look up
parts specific to my exact car.
Now idk how many people would get mad at me for this,but
whenever i looked up random parts that i thought would be cool
to replace and it showed there was a short amount left ever made...
i had to purchase them. Sorry if you needed the parts but i have a problem
lol for instance clips,washer nozzles,window seals,small interior trim pieces,etc,etc.

Was kinda scared at first i ordered the rps13 sideskirts and nismo at first sent me 4 left side sideskirts.
I called them back up and they told me right side skirt was on back-order and that the front mudguards were discountinued
After ive already ordered them. Nissan actually had to restart production of 76852-60F05 and 76853-60F05
..just to fill the backorder..luckily i did recieve mine.BUT AT THREE TIMES THE PRICE.
I wasnt too happy but hey at least i got the last ones ever lol

Thanks dude its been a long process gathering all the OEM parts
and Nismo parts most the Kouki aero took about 8 months to get since it
was on backorder.

While i was waiting for multiple parts to show up from
Nismo i tried working on small things on the car
Yes i bought the car with a flocked dash and no im not proud of it lol
i did replace the finisher and climate control knobs also the speedo had to be replaced,while it was out i replaced the standard bulbs with leds

get a guy to pull the parts but im told him where i worked and he said

there was a empty 55 gallon barrel that i was also standing on
for random stuff from the front of the car.

So my friend has a little s13 he is using for drifting
and he planned on gutting his car
so i decided to take some more interior trim parts to put to good use.
He had the lower and upper rear seat section in somewhat decent
condition just needed to be touched up.

Overall the seats look 100 times better
even spray pattern great color and still somewhat soft.
So just an average day here at Nissan and my co-worker who
knows im into Nissans goes "you have to look at this Maxima
with a GTR emblem on it. It sounds horrible"
At first i kinda just laughed and didnt think anything of it.
I had a feeling he was completely wrong so i walked out back
and of course this is what it was lol

***part 3: Exterior***
I had on order my origin 20mm fenders single slit
they were backordered and took about 3 months
to get in.. really annoying because that was the next
step
when the fenders came in the rps13 bumper came in the same day:fawkd:
that weekend i worked on fitting everything properly so they fit perfect.

This was just a mock up no holes drilled for my front bumper bracket.

In order to drill the holes properly,
I actually cut out from the original damaged fenders
a template to match up to the Origin fenders

As you can see the lower fender
had to be shaved down slightly to hug
the the chassis alittle tighter and to match.. MO BETTA!!!

I found out that in order to achieve the fitment i required
i would have to remove the fenders and install the bumper to
the fenders before installing it on the body of the car
those brackets were a pain in the ass the other way lolol

The sideskirts i decided to just put in the vehicle
they were going to install them at the shop.
I made sure they made provisions for the clips
on the sideskirts to mount them properly to the rocker.

***UPDATE***
So continuing with the build the car was last dropped off at the bodyshop.
I opted for a Nissan original color that was new for the 2014 model year.
It is called Ameythst Gray Pearl. paint code KBD.
I actually first saw it on a new model Sentra as it was getting PDI'd
in the shop and at first sight i knew it was the color i wanted.
It had alot of depth that i felt was hard to capture in a gray color.
Ameythst is a crystal,stone whatever you call it lol but it is purple in
color. I didnt feel like the purple was overpowering it actually was almost
unnoticeable.

The guys at the shop did an amazing job with removing them.


About this time at the shop Augie let me know that my hood was shot
and trying to fix it would just look unprofessional, so i made the decision
to get a brand new OEM hood from Nissan.Only 4 left in the nation.
so i waited a week to receive the hood to send to the shop.
SOME HOW NISSAN LOST THE HOOD IN SHIPMENT!!!
Pissed off i had to order another hood and VOR it to get it quicker.
sad to see that one hood was lost especially only being that there are 3 left now.

Not much of an update today guys !!
I did get some more work done interior wise and small stuff.
Also brought the car to my work today
to show the techs, and take some more pictures.
Went to go plug up consult to the obd port
to adjust my idle but the VI wasnt reading so
we just adjusted it throught the IACV screw.
The screw was almost about to fall out lol
Atleast we found it before it did.
idles much better (800rpm).
Also decided to order more parts
Headlight bezels
The last REAR marker lights
OEM 180sx wing brand new.(hoping it comes with template)
If so im going to hold onto them and possibly make something
i can share with you guys so u can mount it easier.
and some other little random pieces.

They are not the same, this is common misinformation. I had to search for someone selling one to test this theory. Below are photos of both the OEM kouki emblem and OEM 240sx emblem. You can see how the kouki emblem matches the indentation in the bumper whereas the 240sx emblem is smaller and doesn't match the contours.

only thing tat would fit was the Technicians time card at work =x
will do that sometime next week when i have off.
Also will be getting security system and keyless entry installed.

That is the same part # that i purchased thats for the 240sx unfortunately
and will not be like the 180sx emblem that you showed in your post. =/

OKS lol did some more part CROSS. REF.
the part number 62890-31U00 which supposedly
fit the kouki 180sx front bumper is from a A32B (MAXIMA)
or a B14X (SENTRA) . They will fit the bumper alittle better but
not 100% thats the original part number.

I had the raise the front up about half an inch because it was rubbing was
thinking id get away with alil more camber but this worked fine.

It has to small mounting tabs i will most likely remove

Why the hell didn't you do 180sx quarter glass after you already had the stock glass out, you have the hookup at the dealership etc to order them brand new or find good ones, AND you're already doing all the other Kouki 180sx parts, so that's the ONE thing that you don't have... Okay cool. I was thinking about just taking them into a local upholstery shop and seeing if they can re-letter it.

I was just curious if they were even available still, even though it maybe a long shot. I'll see if I can find a part number on the mats after work to give you something as a reference point if that would help.

as you can see the wing has a captive nut and the perches have a small hole you have to get a long Phillips head screwdriver in and line up with the holes in the wing.
Then hopefully the screw doesn't drop and you don't have to shake it out.
once one screw was mounted I had problems mounting the other 2 screws on the perch.
I Decided to just take the whole perch off and mount all the bolts the same time.
(easier said then done)

With the new Nismo type x wing they give you a bag with all the hardware and 3m double sided tape. also give you the foam pads as well.

Reallllly bad picture quality I will take pictures tomorrow when I'm not as tired.
mounting the wing and measuring wasn't that bad. had to fit the clips inside the hatch that mount to the rear of the wing.

I of course dropped the bolt inside the hatch in a impossible to get to spot.
but was able to get it out and tighten everything down. pretty solid no movement and overall happy so far with it!

Nissan unfortunately lost the last rear marker lights so i will not be replacing those now =/
Recieved my s14 black driver and pass. seat belts so i will be installing those over the weekend.

Super happy i will be getting those before Xmas!

Thanks dude! And those moldings are the ones that go on the door itself that are against the window to prevent water from getting inside the door. I've replaced all the door moldings but I know which ones your talking about . Next time I'm at work I will check to see if they are still available. Obviously last time I checked they were since I got them brand new .

rs series to the br5 and they actually let me know he was changing up his wheel selection to the br5 which i was going to get originally..

Seems like they're jerking you around a bit.
I'm usually pretty understanding about mishaps that occur but if they are having issues responding too then something else might be up.
Still think this thing would look perfect with some classic TEs or some 03's or something fancy like that.

Hey guys so another update.. contacted Brada wheels because at this point
I needed answers about an eta for my wheels.
looks like I will still be waiting about 2 weeks sadly..
tired of waiting around I contacted my friend with a R33
who said he had spare wheels he can lend me.

He was under the impression they were oem r33 wheels.

The second I saw them.. I was like nope deftly Advan T5 wheels lol
so I gave them a try. the fitment is weak but once again just something to roll on. Here's a mock up

Once I lowered the car had to snap a picture with the lower front lip..i will
have to modify it so it doesn't sit as low and scrape everything.

After I got them all mounted, balanced, and torqued down took
it for alil test drive. Everything seemed fine.

So after some driving this weekend going to some car events,
ran into my first problem with the Advan T5s.
After the suspension fully settled during right turns
a loud grinding noise became more apparent.
pulled over and realized that the wheel was touching
the coilover spring.:-/
After finding some members on my facebook page.
I was able to source out some 20&25mm spacers .

20mm up front and 25 mm in the rear.

also fixed the front lip so it would sit flush against my type x lip.
Sits much better now and doesn't scrape as easily ..also a reflection of me..

I guess this picture in my mind might have made up my decision
on why I did sell the car. Obviously I could have
fixed whatever went wrong ,but something didn't
sit right with me and I had a gut feeling about the car.
regardless the reason the car was sold within 24 hours
after a random inpulse to put it on cl that night.
My asking price was 15k and ill leave it at that.:mrmeph:

Some of you might recognize this car.
It was the owner of Flipzco's s14 before he sold it off.
Picked it up and going to do some small things to it
and get it back up on its feet
