Sweet man ! I have been debating on doing my own paint job aswell. I have a bigass compressor, Gravity fed paint gun and a bottom fed one for primer. What exactly is the process. I dont know much about painting, and when search google all I find is books on painting. So if you can point out any thing I am missing on the process, I would appreciate it. So let me get this straight. 1st you get an orbital sander, to get off the old paint, then you find all the dents and go over them with bondo. Then you primer the car. Then you use the base coat ( The paint job color?). Do about 2-3 coats? Then you go over with a single Clear coat. Is that even close to, "how its done", or am I way off. Also how many gallons of paint does it take? 1gallon I guessing? What color are you painting your car? It looks like you preped the car damn nice.

yeah, my car is so driftariffic it doesn't even have to move to be pimp. people recognize this shizzle fo' bein off the hizzle my nizzle. hell, i plan on steering clear of drift events cause i don't wanna intimidate the other drivaz inta crashin their inferior shizzle. i mean, not cause i'm sick of even the word drift and plan on never going to one event... purely for the sake those involved in the X-motorsport.

hey maybe you can give me some pointers.. i just pulled out my rear quater panal from an accident where it was dented in.. I used a body puller (the kind u drill holes wiht).. So now its like a cheese grater, with pimples and holes... Would I go by just slapping bondo next? or do I gotta patch these holes up?
MakotoS13
07-19-2004, 11:20 PM

if you wanted to put a name on the front to get people out of the way wouldnt it have to be reversed so they could read it in the mirrors ?

Z-grip is what we use at the shop. it's pretty much the best stuff you can get. sticks well and flexes just enough to keep it from being brittle. doing body work is just something that takes tons of practice and a lot of hands on training to get good at. i still ask for lots of help from the guys at the shop.
typhoon- only if i were bring serious...
