Ok so I really tried to research this before asking but I couldn't get any results on Google. Soo I'm reaching to you zilvians for help. My hatch is leaking gas from the top of the tank where the gas enters when you pump it. The hose is attached to the tank by 6 bolts. On my car 3 of those six bolts are stripped (news to me). So how do I go about fixing this problem? Pic for reference of what I'm taking about, not actually my car in picture. 77979

buy another tank and filler from someone who is parting their car out. the fuel tank on an s13 is not that difficult to drop out.

Ok so there is no way to fix it beside replacing the entire gas tank?

If it has a crack you have to replace it
$100-$300
If u try sealin it it will last for a week or less and crack again

how do you know the tank is cracked?
could be the o-ring between the tank and filler tube ?

I'm pretty sure its not cracked. The bolts that connect the filler to the tank are stripped and I was wondering if I would have to replace the whole tank of if there is another option. Someone told me helicoil but I've never used one and i don't want to take a chance on it since I will be driving the car a long distance.
