I need help with my car. Its a ka24 dual valve, reconstructed title and automatic. Odometer says 84,000 miles on the motor but we think it has a lot more then that. I want to make it stick. Anyone know any places to look for transmissions. Im worried about true mileage and if my engine is gonna go. My check engine light is on but we thought it was from replacing the O2 sensor. Also my front headlights keep going out....I love the car but its very frustrating. does anyone else have any similar problems?

I need help with my car. Its a ka24 dual valve, reconstructed title and automatic. Odometer says 84,000 miles on the motor but we think it has a lot more then that. I want to make it stick and put a turbo in. Anyone know any places to look for transmissions and any cheap turbo kits under $500. Im also worried about true mileage and if my engine is gonna go. Also my front headlights keep going out....I love the car but its very frustrating. does anyone else have any similar problems?
first things first...pull those codes if you havent already
on my s14 the odometer went out and i knew of a couple people who had the same issue. 84k seems unlikely if your doubting it yourself
does it burn oil a lot?? high mileage KA's do that...well any engine might
mine would puff out a mini cloud at stop lights
pressure test and leak down test is the only thing i can think of doing to get an idea of the engines health
for sale section of this forum, take a look
hope this helps

Holy shit... A KA turbo kit for less than $500?! http://newnation.sg/wp-content/uploads/impossibru.jpeg
You can barely even get a knockoff header & catback exhaust for that price.

You are worried about your car yet want to hang a ticking time bomb onto the side of it. Pay to play or get out of the game.

Every now and then I smell something burning, I wasn't sure if its oil or something worse. But it tends to go away after 10 seconds.

I would look for a different car to start with personally. Make this one someone else's problem.
