Sup guys. I was just wondering what some of you use to recirculate your type s BOV? Type of pipe (vinyl, rubber, silicone, heater, ect.)...and what diameter tubing you use and thickness? I have mine setup on the cold pipe next to the throttle body and used a cheap thick vinyl hose with some clamps, and aluminum joiner to route it back between the turbo and maf. The recirculation distance is at least 2.5 feet in length. I used a 1 1/4 inner diameter tube on my last type s bov and was curious if the tube diameter makes any difference in performance? I figured that slightly bigger tubing would carry more air faster but is it necessary? Maybe 1" ID is plenty. I just bought a new NRG type s bov because my Greddy and ebay BOVs no longer work very well. Causing boost leak and compressor surge. The NRG bov is suppose to be a lot better than both without having to modify it. I had to play with the springs and use thread seal tape to make them work temporarily. The spring setting on the NRG supposedly adjusts much better and doesnt leak due to the new design.

If anyone has any suggestions please let me know. Also if you know where i can buy the pipe/tube you're suggesting for a good price. I would stick to the vinyl hose since it worked before but honestly it looks like shit. lol. Going for a more refined look such as silicone if possible. The only problem is I have to slightly bend the tube so that it all fits without restricting air flow. So maybe a flex type silicone hose if that will work?

I will upload pics of my previous bov setup along with the new one once i get it done. Thanks for your help in advance.

I wish i could just vent the BOV but my car runs like crap when i tried and the throttle was a lot less responsive. When i bought the car it was setup and Tuned to be recirculated. Going to wait until next summer to redo the turbo and setup for MAP instead of MAF with AEM. I plan on going with the Tial wastegate and BOV as well.

A little "compressor surge" at low rpm and boost isn't hurting anything and if your greddy is authentic should hold boost when properly adjusted.

The hose diameter should be fine but you want to reduce any turns and 90* bends. Do you also recirc the "t" off of the valve cover ?

Yea i thought about going with a whole new bov such as the Tial RQ, synapse, or SSQV but didn't want to spend that much on a authentic BOV at the moment. I'd have to switch out the flange, pipe, ect so just sticking with the s type for now. Saving up for other mods is my main concern. Especially since my manual boost contoller just took a crap on me. I just want my car running like it use to for now. Plus the NRG was only $140 and fits into the same flange. I really just hate having to recirculate it so far away. I notice most people have their bov on the hot pipe and just route it back before the maf. Looks a lot cleaner that way.

Yes i have the t going after my maf directly into a Spectre Air filter housing. The bov is recircuated before the maf.

So i bought several different hoses today to try out recirculating my bov....and they all look like crap. lol. As long as it functions correctly and doesn't block air flow or pop off during high boost should be my only concern but it's just so ugly looking. I'm probably going to stick with using a black silicone hose since my new bov is black. Looks more discreet. The last time i had a cop look under my hood the first thing he asked about was the bright shiny purple thing with a clear hose running from it. I said it was a heat surge protector thingy. Luckily he was cool about it and let me off with a warning.

This is my favorite setup, Greddy Type-S recirculated works flawlessly. Use the loose setting (no pre-load on the spring) it should be open at idle, just like factory.

To recirculate, I used hose from home-depot designed for hot water.
