ive seen people remove it i know it has something to with better a/f mixture anyone have a thread they can show me?

the only difference, quite literally, is the lack of swirl valves.
that's it.
the lower manifold is a little different on the s14, but the S13 lower plenum bolts right up to the S14 upper.
S13 on left, S14 on right.

what good is the scv? ive looked at it and it doesnt seem to benefit the engine other then open up at any throttle position.

Nissan thought they would increase low-end torque and decrease fuel consumption by "swirling" the air/fuel mixture similar to a throttle body spacer does on old carb engines. Apparently it didn't hold up to its claims because they removed the butterfly valves on the S14 intake manifolds. Cool idea but ultimately impedes airflow.

so would doing the s14 upper mani swap benefit a stock ka set up?

On an S13 turbo KA setup, yes.
On an S13 NA KA setup, no.
Although I have no experience with this modification, theoretical gains will be negligible on an NA setup.

its understandable that kat setups will benefit.. i wanna dig into this now.. that dam scv is tough to get to and would free up some space used for repairs
