Looks like your missing the transmission stamped steel spacer or the PO is using a automatic spacer, was the car 5 speed swapped?

not really sure, the guy stopped talking to me about the car, he didnt tell me much except it had a bad wheel bearing and oil pan is leaking. well i went to look at the oil pan and saw that. I will need to pull the trans to install that plate? im worried something is screwed up

It installs behind the flywheel so to do it correctly you will need to pull the transmission and clutch assembly. You can always cut the top of the plate out just wide enough so that it will slip past the crank, you will need to unbolt the transmission, remove the bolts and starter, then move it back about half an inch to slide the plate in. All depends on how much effort you feel like putting in.

You can do something, or you can do something correctly, although i plan on eventually swapping the motor, this would be a good learning opportunity for me. I will plan on installing it how it should be done, thanks for the advice i appreciate it.
During the install should i be inspecting anything specific to see if it is damaged and replaced?

Just general items like checking out the rear main seal, pilot bearing and clutch release bearing and input shaft bearing while it's all apart.
Honestly if you were planning on swapping the motor I would just cut the plate and slide it in, I totally understand the whole doing it right thing but when it comes down to half an hour under a car versus 5 hours or more if this is your first time. Cut it and just be done with it.

Change everything. Now is your chance. change the pivot ball(nismo), clutch, pressure plate, throwout bearing, flywheel bolts(arp), rear main seal (oem). Inspect the fork and flywheel. Check the input shaft endplay. Clean it spotless and put it all back together using FSM torque proceedure. Use an appropriate clutch disc.
And it will be good to go for 50,000 miles +
