So this setup sounds pretty easy. I was wondering if you can run off the stock ecu or if chipping or alternate ems would be required?

depends on what motor you have

Need the 4 wire ls2 coils. I don't think the 3 wire ls1 coils will work. I used the coils off
Of a ls2 truck engine and they were pretty easy to set up just make sure you get the firing order right.
They will run the car and you can drive without any modifications but I was getting bad break up in boost. I got my Ecu tuned to increase the dwell.
you can wire them in and run them without a tune no problem, car should drive better than stock if installed correctly. to get the full benefit it is recommended to setup the ECU for them.

They can be run on a factory ECU however an EMS is preferred.
You'll need to delete the factory ignitor, wiring the signal wires straight across with the center wire being grounded to chassis.
