Help... Can't fit new seats I bought...

I just bought new Recaro (I think they are called Speed) seats for my '93 Conv and I'm almost giving up, cause I can't get them to fit. The seat position is crazy high, which I am willing to overlook, but the width isn't allowing me to close the doors.

I am pretty sure I have seen 240s with recaros in them, so I know it can be done, but how? Help and tips are appreciated.

You'll have to use different rails.

Either bride low rails (don't even know if these will fit those recaros)
Or custom built mounts.

Halo, how do the seats fit? how big are you?

I'm thinking about getting the Speed's with the sub-belt hole..

I am 5'9".... I fit perfectly. It's the same height as stock, or even a bit lower... They hold you very nicely.

I got a Recaro SR3 seat (just like the Speed model).

By the way, the links I posted are not from my car... I just followed that how-to.. :)

I'm like 225 36" waist.. so it's hard to find a comfortable seat..

I'm like 150 lbs with a 32ish waist... sometimes it's smaller, like 30... ;)

And it's a nice snug fit.. I wouldn't know for your case... You'd have to try it.... Where are you located? ;)

i had to get cobra daytona/sparco torino seats b/c im 5ft11 and 190 lbs w/ 34 inch waist but too wide for the top bolsters

and forget about a bride unless youre jdm built

Justin - do you have any pics of the new sparco rails? are they made specifically for the 240sx?

Well I got some more questions... Does anyone have a convertible with Recaro seats? The other problem I have is the seats don't recline forward (I dunno how else to explain it), because they hit the side(what I mean by side is the top part of the side front windows) of the roof.

Maybe Justin's sparco seat rails can help.... how much for a driver/passenger pair?

Just called up the place where I bought the seats.... they said that the base that I have for the recaro rails ARE the Sparcos... :(

I guess custom rails are the only way to go...

last i heard they shipped today, so i should have em tuesday/wednesday and in the car the day they get here :)

New Sparco rails eh? Innnteresting...

Some people say Bride rails won't work with Recaro, but Bride sells some different adapters that might make them fit.

I'm curious about it all because used stock Evo 8 seats are pretty cheap! They're just standard Recaros.

Edit: hmm, I just did some looking into things. Sparco.co.jp lists, next to their seat rails for the S13/S14/S15, "low posi yes". So, they've got 'em in Japan. :) So is Sparco USA going to get these now?

I just have about given up.... :smash: Guess what now... there is no way that the seatbelt anchors are going on. Cause the bracket that the OEM seatbelt is supposed to fasten on is touching the center floor. :loco:

Justin - are you sure that what you got is something newer than mine? The sparco's are the base plate right, that bolts on to the recaro rails? if so I think that is what I have... But I would love to see some pics to see if it is different or not...

honestly 99% of me is sure its not the same you got...cuz these bitches are '04 and im pretty sure i got one of the 1st sets...

Well after a trip to the local garage that specializes in nissan, and the mechanic told me that I was piss out of luck to put these seats in a 'vert, I have officially given up. Haven't thought of a price, but they are officially for sale (local SoCal pickups only) until I spill something on them in the living room :)

also a rough price lists them at about 98 bux per bracket and 45 or so per slider o.O

im trying to see a price on like 10-15 sets for ya guys though
