Hi guys, I've been around the forums for awhile now and have recently made some great progress on my project in the past few weeks and though that I would share the build on here.
I once had a 1990 hatch, but due to Canada's harsh winters the chassis was becoming unsalvageable and more trouble than its worth so I decided to move on to something else.
http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/tt121/Dolph_KYAS13/_MG_3053.jpg
Whilst every native car in Canada is killed by rust, It is well known that we have early access to a plethora of JDM vehicles so decided to take advantage. A friend of mine was leaving the province so way back in 2010 I picked up a 1993 Skyline GTS-T Type M.
It Came with Kei Office Coils up front and Teins in the rear.
Full 3" Exhaust Not too sure of the brand
RSR Downpipe
Nismo NS5R wheels
and some other bits and pieces.
Not bad for the price i paid.
http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/tt121/Dolph_KYAS13/208220_10150145787821540_5417657_n.jpg
I drove it pretty much as is through 2011 until a coolant line broke and dumped all the coolant out of the car and it overheated and ruined the motor. The next day I got laid off so the car sat at my parents house. My new job required a more economical commuter vehicle and with their being a single parking spot at my condo, the Skyline was shipped off to my parents place and locked in my storage container turned garage.
http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/tt121/Dolph_KYAS13/IMG_0220.jpg
I collected parts from Japan for the next couple of years, bought a house and now am finally getting back into making progress.
As you can tell by my S13, I Dig the 90's Highway Racer look and splurged on 1990's aero bits when they came up for sale.
http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/tt121/Dolph_KYAS13/IMG_0426.jpg
The complete aero package is:
Tommykaira Sides and Rear
GTR bumper with JUN lip
Eastbear Mirrors
WinningSports Wangan wing
The car had been in a minor front end collision in a past life so I drilled out the spot welds and replaced the rad support from one I got at an importers

At this time I had the car towed to my own house and started working on what I could do in the driveway. Houses with garages are Extremely expensive in Toronto so the next best thing is a large driveway
At this point I bought a replacement RB20det with forward facing manifold from a friend for a steal. The plan was to go 25 but for the price I paid with the plenum I couldn't go wrong. I might upgrade to a 25 later but for now this will mean I can get the car on the road the fastest.

The motor wouldnt be complete without Super 90's themed Valvecovers

Got a GKtech Clutch fan and adaptor to help with cooling. I want to make sure this car never overheats again.
Had some Pals over to help get the motor in on the driveway.

https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2932/14306426358_8b28d48fab_c.jpg
All ready to mock up the intercooler piping and such. I also made the cooling panel at work as well.
Got all the wiring labeled and am now in the process of re locating the fuse/ relay box to inside the car. The only wires coming into the bay on the chassis harness are the headlights, turn signals, horn and ambient air temp sensor.
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3866/14525833810_f84f76b109_c.jpg
I splurged and bought some Tommykaira wheels to match the aero. I will be running 17/18 stagger until I get the other 18" wheel fixed. The 18's are GTR sizes 18x9+25 and the 17's are 9J+25 as well
https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2927/14709334411_245d04b2a6_c.jpg
At this point, I finally got fed up walking from the front of the house to the shed to get tools and the lack of shade meant it was time to move the car so I could actually make some progress.
I had a good buddy trailer the car to a friends storage unit which is fully equipped with everything needed to finish the project. Its a little cramped but it beats working in the driveway. These storage lockers are rented out as workshops so they are perfect.

https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3874/14766158870_56b0e3bea4_c.jpg
On our row of units there is one that does autobody, another for fabrication and a host of people building cool projects. All the resources are in one place to get the project done. I spent most of last week there until all hours of the morning and got all my intercooler piping tacked up as well as made the intake.

The firewall has been stripped of the brake booster/ master cylinder, clutch master, wiper motor for cleaning and paint. I pulled the motor, picked up some Ford UH black and went to town smoothing everything down
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3919/15112289332_0253f67bba_c.jpg
Paint came out perfect for HKS livery
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5579/15034253588_88be5f08fd_c.jpg
This past weekend I got the motor back in and started re assembling everything in the engine bay.

This pretty much brings us up to speed as to where the car is right now. There are MANY details I haven't written about yet. But I will touch base on them as they become relevant.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks For all the Kind words.

I machined a lot of parts at my old work on our router table, I am looking to get my own and start making my own stuff soon.
Right now I am bringing the chassis back to its former glory and will be building it once the platform is solid.
First off the Front suspension was taken out and the inside of the wheel wells were seam sealed and painted with chip, rock guard.

If I was smart I would have done it before the engine bay got painted, but I had to fit in the the painters schedule and there wasn't any time. Masked off all the holes and used some drop sheets to avoid ruining the newly painted bay
I dont really have any pictures (boring and immensely time consuming in my home garage) but every bushing has be replaced with the exception of the bearing between the front arm and knuckle.
For those who are interested, 90% of the S13 energy suspension bushing kit can be used on R32. I properly got rid of Hicas by swapping in an S13 Subframe, removed all the lines and de finned my PS Pump.
Rear BallJoints were replaced with B13 Sentra ones (same as S13)
Front Balljoints are the same as S14
Front Tierod Ends are 95 Maxima
Needless to say im excited to see how this car handles now.
I've been busy over the past couple of weeks assembling, painting and fixing up all the loose ends. As of now, the complete drive line is back in the car and it is back on the ground.
The stock overflow tank was cracked and would stick out like a sore thumb in the newly painted bay so I opted for the new Chasebays Unit. None of the in stock brackets were appropriate so I mounted to the rad support.
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3954/15599093641_ecd11a9129_c.jpg
I also installed my Greddy Coolant temp sensor in the Upper Rad Hose. The GKTech Fan also fits 100% and I am excited to see how it preforms over stock. They claim 60% more airflow but we shall see.
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3932/15433610381_fc5fcde4bd_c.jpg
Intercooler was just a universal kit I had previously purchased from Ebay. Ill probably source a brand name one in the future (Likely HKS) but this will do for now
Finally got the car back on the ground and threw on the Tommykaira wheels and Sideskirts for some motivation.

Yea Im glad I finally get to work on it. I am losing my shop space in a couple weeks so Its the last push before winter storage.
Started lengthening the body harness tonight. My good friend is showing me the ropes and helping me out.
Intercooler piping is done and welded, just wait for the BOV flange from vibrant.
Will update later with pictures.

Had some time to work on the car today and started by installing tierod ends.
As i stated before, 95 Maxima ones are compatible with R32 GTS. I knew the old ones were worn out but I had no idea they were this bad.
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3955/15451136947_bcb51014e5_c.jpg
Also, The old brake master was also replaced with one from a 91+ Pathfinder. All the lines were run and the callipers were cleaned and painted ricer red for some extra horsepower. Both fenders were mounted as well as the lights. Some massaging of the front fenders will be needed so the GTR bumper lines up 100%.
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3952/15450491529_9aab29e83b_c.jpg
I'm stoked that I no longer have 39048230984 feet of intercooler piping. Now its just 2 short pipes and 4 couplers.
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5606/15638114112_9421da8c1d_c.jpg
turned out Vibrant didnt have a flange for my Blitz BOV (I Cannot STAND HKS SSQV Sound) As I am tight on time I got a hold of a greddy flange and modified it to fit the BLITZ. Please excuse the sealant, I will clean it up later.
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3937/15634459411_70d4ea6b99_c.jpg
As of now, all the hot side piping is clamped and ready to go. The intake is also in snugged up and in its final resting place. The stock rubber intake was replaced with an aluminum one I made from some scraps I had leftover from the universal Intercooler Kit. I finished it off with a HKS filter, purchased through FRSport.
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3939/15450484749_cb49b93903_c.jpg
Again, not the most exciting update just getting all the important maintenance parts out of the way that often get overlooked.

The devil is in the details.
Keeping up with the little details, I've replaced the old hard rubber hood stoppers with brand new ones.
https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7580/15053320304_0ce49f8a77_c.jpg
Since all the hicas garbage has been removed, I now only have 1 hardline going across the firewall. The plastic factory clips were brittle , cracked and mostly crumbled away to nothing when I stripped the engine bay. To solve this I inserted #10-24 Riv nuts in the existing holes in the cowl and used Stainless button head cap screws and little "P" clips to hold the brake line in place.
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3949/15674871082_563fcb0ed0_c.jpg
Black clips would be Ideal but these do the trick for the time being
I got the OEM GTR bumper fitting as best as I could with the stock GTS fenders and corner lights. It is about 95% right now. There is a gap of a couple mm where the wheel arch on the bumper meets the wheel arch of the fender. This is unavoidable when putting a GTR bumper on a GTS but I doubt it will be that noticeable once the bumpers are painted.
https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7527/15487887438_14db0e2d2d_c.jpg
GTR fenders are slightly wider so brackets will have to be to bolt into existing holes under the cornerlights to "suck" the bumper so it meets up with the stock fenders.
https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7513/15487888418_9d4b8391e2_c.jpg
As you can see, I also got new belts. For those who have an RB20 and need belts the Alternator is Pn. 4PK870 and Power Steering is Pn. 4PK0945.
The wiring party kicked off last night as well. The fuse box is getting relocated to the glovebox and the harness is getting simplified to remove all the unnecessary wires that were for AC, retractable lip and other things that have been removed from the car.
As a bonus, The brake fluid level sensor connector is the same on the Pathfinder BMC as the OEM skyline one so that was kept and extended,
The car came with the useless projector headlights from factory and were changed for N1/ early GTS style headlights. Like the A/c all the unused connectors and wires were deleted. As of now the only wires headed to the front of the car are Headlights, Turn signals, Horn and the brake fluid level sensor.
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3949/15674874462_671ceda188_c.jpg
once finally tested, everything will be loomed up and tucked under the top rad support.
The stock boost gauge sensor has been relocated to behind the radio along with the wiper regulator.
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3952/15487406589_b71767910f_c.jpg
I hope to have a lot of the wiring buttoned up this weekend, I cant wait to get everything back together.

I love reading this. Would you ever consider going full amber corners? While its not authentic to GTSTs, I think it looks much better...especially since you have a gtr front!
Nah, Im not very fond of full amber corners. I am debating on sourcing a Tommykaira front bumper, Part of me wants a full matching kit, but I love the aggressiveness of this front end.
**THROWBACK The following events took place June 2014**
While on the topic of the front bumper. Being a type M it naturally came with a Type M Bumper which I was never really fond of. It needed a lip to be cool and all the available lips for were god awful aside from the TBO lip which is rarer than a unicorn. The aggressiveness of the JUN lip caught my eye and I knew I needed a GTR bumper.
http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/tt121/Dolph_KYAS13/IMG_0238.jpg (http://s604.photobucket.com/user/Dolph_KYAS13/media/IMG_0238.jpg.html)
I sourced a beat up GTR bumper at a local importers for a fairly cheap price. Sold the stock lip and made half my money back and bought a JUN rep lip (Its likely going to get smashed anyways)
https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7338/14138538372_6bc80b8373_c.jpg
I then wanted N1 ducts to complete the look. Genuine N1 ducts are worth more than double the price I paid for the bumper so I opted from some Z1 motorsports Fiberglass ones. I measured 15 times and cut once.
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5559/14137637489_92bc948d30_c.jpg
Fitment was 100% Awesome
https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2900/14138030989_22415ea219_c.jpg
At his point I had two giant holes in the front of my bumper and two very shitty pieces of fiberglass. Time to get creative.
I took some measurements from both the holes in the bumper and the fiberglass reps. I made them in solidworks and cut them out on the CNC router table at work
https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2899/14361774533_ec40870b5f_c.jpg
Next I cut the flange off the fiberglass reps and started playing with some Adhesives.

https://farm3.staticflickr.com/2899/14155092567_8f4053759e_c.jpg
I am not 100% sure how they will hold up time will tell I suppose. I think they came out great, all things considering
https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3852/14377002892_daa861e424_c.jpg
i also made use of the rear window washer nozzle. Intercooler sprayer anyone?

I like the practicality of the washer nozzle. I might consider doing that
Yea its a pretty easy mod. not too sure how effective it is but since all it involves is running some vacuum line i'm not really bothered if it doesn't work.
So I'm still in the midst of doing my wiring. This past weekend I neatened up and tucked my engine harness.
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5614/15187422234_a1a73b6698_c.jpg
It took a good half hour to de-loom the stock harness. It being my first time wiring had some friends come by and point me in the right direction. started out on the passenger side as it is simpler.
I started out by re-routing the harness through the firewall in one of the old A/c Holes. I routed the silver resistor (?) box and mounted it behind the dash. Running the wires through the firewall seemed like a no brainer because rubbing through harnesses is the worst.
https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7473/15621485688_91d5a9a8c6_c.jpg
I extended the Wiper harness so it could be hidden along the seam of the firewall/ wheel arch and shortened the MAFS wire. All that is left on the passenger side is the 02 sensor.
https://farm8.staticflickr.com/7557/15783860956_7e98fdfbd1_c.jpg
The only things that needed to be adjusted (lengthened / shortened) was the TPS plug, IACV Plug and the connector that goes to the ignitor.

Came in the other day and found these on my windshield. :2f2f:
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5615/15621055459_db0167a067_c.jpg
Once I was satisfied with how everything was routed, I pulled it all out and re-loomed everything.
https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8120/15783218736_7ee1f88252_c.jpg
I dont really have a great picture of the finished product, mostly because the unloomed chassis harness and partly exposed coilpack harness makes everything look ugly. The best part of this manifold is that everything can be hidden under it. It does look 9032849023 times better in person.

Mechanically the car is set to go. The fuel system was finished off and all the vacuum lines were ran. Unfortunately, The chassis wiring was not completed on time and my car had to leave the storage unit.
I am pretty upset that it didnt leave 100% running but I did make HUGE progress in the 3 months that it was there. All that is left is to finalize all the connections on the chassis harness and run the cable for the battery relocation and paint the aero and it should be on the road in the spring time.
Before I put the car on jackstands and covered it up I threw on the aero for a little motivation to get me though winter. I just wish it was nicer out today so I could see what The engine bay paint looks like in the sun.

No Kidding, I havent driven the car since Sept 2011. The past couple of years have gone by super quick with getting the house and getting the ball rolling with my career.
Turbo Timer Enclosure Build: Was completed a while ago but since my car is wrapped up for the winter (and no new progress can be made) I thought I'd Share. Sorry for the Iphone 4 pics, This mod happened a while ago.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I enjoy the small details that go into a build and really separate it apart from the "off the shelf mods".
Whilst many argue that Turbo Timers are useless and unnecessary, my car came with some oldschool HKS one already wired in. However it was just double sided taped to the side of the centre console and that would just not cut it.
I First saw a turbo timer / boost controller enclosure made by Broadfield way back in the NICO days. I took a half ass stab at it one day on my condo balcony and it obviously didnt turn out well and I gave up before ever really making progress.

Fast forward a couple of years and I had moved into my place and had more room to work and 3d printing was starting to really take off. I had started my career as an industrial designer and we just so happned to have a new printer in the office. Time to put it to good use.

I do not have a garage which makes for very slow progress during the winter. If any.
I spent most of the winter browsing for parts but had a tough time pulling the trigger on anything as the canadian dollar was (still is) very weak.
https://farm9.staticflickr.com/8659/15731414068_dbcd79c94e_c.jpg[/url]
The above picture has been my wallpaper at work over the course of the winter and I found myself absolutely hating how the car looked with 18's in the rear lowered with stock arms.
Adjustable arms were needed next. I managed to locally source (CDN dollars) new driftworks toe arms and ISIS Pro RUCA's. Being a brand whore im kinda bummed I couldn't source some brand name parts but it is what it is.
This past weekend was the first nice weekend we have had so far so it was time for a little driveway tuning.

Mini @ work update.
I've been getting through the wiring slowly. The car did not have A/C or the original factory triple projector headlights up when I bought it . This meant there were many unused connectors that i couldn't mark when I removed the harness.
The scanned factory service manual is difficult to read was everything is pixelated but I am pretty much there in terms of wiring.
The engine bay is coming together nicely and my catch can has been sent to get laser cut.

The catch can will be mounted behind the passenger side shock tower and will be plumbed back into the intake.

Car is perfect. I hope you polish that manifold one day!
Thanks, The manifold was polished. Ill likely get it powdercoated black someday.
Hokey So. Last year I thought it would be an awesome idea to do a wire tuck on my chassis harness and started racing against the clock to get it done whist the car was at my friends shop. Long story short I ran out of time, got discouraged and left the car looking like this:
https://c4.staticflickr.com/8/7685/17878084921_957db77ff9_c.jpg
Awesome.:ugh:
Having ZERO automotive wiring knowledge meant I had no idea where to begin. Eventually I knew it had to be completed and I am too cheap to take it to a shop to complete it so I had to do it myself.
So naturally I started with something completely different. My remote battery terminals. I have relocated my battery to behind the passenger seat. With the 4 pt (soon the be 5pt) cage in the back, having seats back there is completely useless.
Enter the rear seat delete (mockup)
https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3838/14526052737_f49254e8fb_c.jpg
Streetcar > Budget wannabe racecar. I hate the stripped out caged look so I took it upon myself to make a rear "shelf" / Storage unit for the back. My Del Sol has little lock boxes so no one thieves your stuff when the roof is off and I thought something similar would work well in the R32. I am undecided on what material to make this from. Plywood was cheap and serves as a great material for mocking everything up.
The intention is to use FC RX-7 Storage bins; One for the battery and the other to store a small emergency toolkit. Similar to this:
http://i32.photobucket.com/albums/d44/turbo1307/AWD%20Spyder/interior2.jpg
Back to the remote terminals. Relocating the battery to what is essentially the middle of the car would make accessing the battery a pain. I machined out a bracket to utilize the mounting points for the rear wiper (which was deleted)
https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7360/13954768107_f573ba037a_c.jpg
and ran the battery leads to the passenger side rear seat.

https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5341/17877575715_5573cea04c_c.jpg
Oh and if you're planning on doing any extensive wiring, do yourself a favour and get one of these:
https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5331/17878134495_64b3db0b0f.jpg
You can adjust the tension and they cut perfectly smooth. No more sharp jagged zipties. your hands and arms will thank you later.
Back to the task at hand. I slowly started making sense of the wiring harness, the online diagrams were terrible and super pixelated. By breaking it down into smaller sections everything became manageable.
being Garage/ Shopless meant working outside.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8884/17690202090_deae6ebdbb_c.jpg
Many of the components that were located on the firewall were relocated behind the centre stack. Heres the wiper regulator and stock boost gauge sensor.

https://c4.staticflickr.com/8/7710/17690205990_8fec6e0335_c.jpg
I put my interior back together as all that is left is to wire up the gauges. The plan is it have a fused terminal block for constant and switched power to allow me to easily add accessories in the future. Yesterday was a holiday so I couldnt go out and buy the components I needed.
https://c4.staticflickr.com/8/7765/17877754735_3d6bdcac62_c.jpg
Im so stoked that this is behind me. It was such a huge hurdle but didnt end out being that difficult.
My catch can should be done this week. The parts have been laser cut and just need to be bent and welded up. Hopefully Ill be adding fluids this week and starting it up in the near future.

Thanks buddy, I am still playing around with different material options. We have a full upholstery shop at work so hopefully I can use that to my advantage.
Hopefully will have the lower harness all lengthened before the weekend, my little soldering iron has no chance soldering the larger gauge wires for the alternator or starter signal haha
Also the GTR Bumper has been sold to free up some budget. I've acquired a GTS bumper and modified JUN lip to use while I source a TommyKaira unit. The GTS Bumper is already black so that should save some hassle when it comes time to do bodywork.

Hokey So. Busy month or so, the really big news is that I am now engaged. I designed the ring myself in solidworks and with the help of the jeweller had it made up. Super excited about this :)

It has also been super rainy for the past couple of weeks so not much could be done.
In the spirit of Le Mans
https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/539/18719212740_a04945f3b5_c.jpg
As a recap, Nothing off the shelf would fit anywhere neatly in the bay. I had an old rectangular Greddy unit but the fittings were the wrong size for the -10 Raw Brokerage fittings I had pressed into my valvecovers.
I quickly made up a cardboard template to fit behind the passenger shock tower
https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3696/18901645912_ffdea1393d_c.jpg
https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3930/18902528562_1de7ed2b1f_c.jpg
Clearance to the wiper motor was extremely tight. I then designed it out of sheetmetal in solidworks and had the flat pattern waterjet cut.
https://c2.staticflickr.com/6/5446/18906906295_9a4a5131c0_z.jpg
Rene @ Centerline Motorsports bent and welded it up for me. Luckily he had an R32 in his shop for some work so we were able to mock up the brackets using threaded holes in the engine bay.
I hit it with a quick coat of Duplicolor Bedliner to match My brake booster and wiper motor.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/287/18901653862_234fd151ce_c.jpg
https://c1.staticflickr.com/1/546/18284356824_0032b31663_c.jpg
Fitment is 100% on point. There is just under an 8th clearance between the wiper motor and the catchcan. I still have to make the line which goes from the catch can to the intake but making AN lines gets old really quickly so I will finish that up in the next little while.
Apart from that, My interior still looks like a disaster and I have to take the dash out again to finish looming everything up
https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3818/18880624016_cec19129ed_c.jpg
But I did finally manage to find a set of RX7 storage bins for cheap.
https://c2.staticflickr.com/4/3956/18719243558_9027dd5c70_c.jpg
Not a big update I know but I have most of the parts to finish up many aspects of the build. Clear weather this weekend means I can actually get some stuff done.
Thats all for now.

It Runs!.
So I just started the 2nd week of my 2 week vacation ( My company shuts down for 2 weeks in the summer)
The first week started off well. Filled the car up with fluids, primed it, and it started right up. One of the lines to the turbo was leaking slightly as was the coolant temp sensor on the intake manifold.
Some new crush washers fixed the oil leak on the turbo side. I went to tighten the temp sensor and disaster.
https://farm1.staticflickr.com/479/20089391102_dca3327284_c.jpg
the hole for the sensor probe was slightly too small and the sensor bottomed out and cracked the manifold. Many swear words were said.
Depression was real.
https://farm1.staticflickr.com/423/20089396172_d4d976b811_c.jpg
I made a few calls and pulled the manifold. It was super difficult to do without scratching the bay paint. Pat Cyr and Cyrious Garageworks had the manifold repaired and back in my hand a couple days later.
https://farm1.staticflickr.com/468/20071054606_c6618bcee1_c.jpg
Whilst the manifold was off getting repaired, I put my interior back in.
https://farm1.staticflickr.com/334/19474562744_dfbeec37a8_c.jpg
https://farm1.staticflickr.com/382/19910555949_a51103b8dc_c.jpg
Ran into an issue with the glove box. The fuse box was clearly in the way which then snowballed into another mini project.
This wasnt going to cut it for me
https://farm1.staticflickr.com/336/19909280950_0050d735c1_c.jpg
So I removed the inner skin and sectioned the glove box to fit.
https://farm1.staticflickr.com/488/20097302255_4cd0fd7ed7_c.jpg
https://farm1.staticflickr.com/343/20089358472_f0c3ea94c0_c.jpg
Test fit. It clearly needs to be filled, sanded and painted for that OEM look.
https://farm1.staticflickr.com/498/19909187828_d0d2512d75_c.jpg
I am still waiting on a clutch line then I can take it for its maiden voyage.
More updates by the end of the week. Gonna start sanding the aero tomorrow.
Thanks for reading.

Anyways,
My mail man is awesome, I had been bugging him all week for my clutchline. Usually he walks the route and then delivers the packages in the afternoon. My clutch line came in on friday and he made a point of delivering it first thing at 9am before walking the route. Awesome.

I got the clutch mostly bled by myself, It took forever since the system was completely dry. There is still a bit of air in the line but. Ill have to wait until someone else comes by.
As of now the engine bay is pretty much complete. I am waiting on some injector seals as my fuel system wont hold pressure. The system primes but the gauge reads 0 as soon as it stops.
I have no visible leaks so one of the injectors must be leaking into the intake manifold. Other than that, I need to cap off the heater core and its ready to go.

I also quickly spray bombed one of the sideskirts to see how it looked. I was initially unsure of the sideskirts when they were white but once painted black they obviously became more subtile. The paint matches so so, enough that I can get away with it.
https://farm1.staticflickr.com/451/19591861163_0ce481b31d_c.jpg
Hopefully tomorrow I can get the rear valance sanded and painted as well. All the aero needs work as it was cut in half when it was shipped from japan.
Till next time.

Are you running an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator? I have an Isis adjustable FPR and I have the same issue with my fuel pressure dropping to zero after the fuel pump primes. This was not an issue with my stock FPR. I did have a guy on another forum tell me that all aftermarket FPRs he has ran do not hold pressure after the fuel pump is done priming though so I don't know what to think.

I am running a Tomei FPR. There is pressure still pressure in the system but it doesn't register on the gauge unless the pump is running. If I prime the car and turn it off I can open the filler cap and the system will depressurize. I am going to replace the O-rings anyways as they have dried out from sitting.

I've noticed that my filler cap no longer gives off the "psssh" sound when I fill up so maybe I'm losing pressure there. I had an emissions place test it and it passed though. Maybe I should just get a new one and try it out...

Thanks! She is a Shiba Inu.
Monday Night I drove my car for the first time in 4 years. :hsdance: It was only to the end of the street and back but it felt awesome.

It was also nice to get a picture of the car out of the driveway haha.
The drive short drive wasnt perfect. I had a good friend Martino come by and help diagnose the issues with the car. We ruled out the possibility of both the tomei FPR and O ring seals causing the fuel pressure to drop.
Then the car is idling, we heard what sounded like a huge vacuum leak. which was then traced back to the intake manifold. The manifold is full of tiny pin holes. When you place your hand on the top surface of the manifold you can feel suction.
I believe that when the manifold is cast there are pinholes in the casting. They then get coated to seal it all up. It is when that coating wears off that all these issues become apparent.

So off to the coaters it goes.

Thanks Buddy. Ill do my best.
My manifold is still off getting powdercoated. My cometic gasket came in from FRsport today.
Got my aero all painted (minus the wing). I sold the GTR bumper and am getting a GTS one shortly with the hope to come across a Tommykaira front lip at some point.

As you may have noticed, between the gauges, HVAC and my Cupholders (most important) I have no room for headunit. This is ok because every headunit looks like it came from a spacecraft which is not the look I am going for. I dont have the option to hide one in the glove box either.
So i've found this install http://imgur.com/a/BTNFd
am going to give it a go. All my music is on my old Iphone which would just sync to the car. Seems simple enough. Ill report back with my findings.
Thanks for reading.

Thanks! it felt really good just driving to the end of the street and back. I have insurance now and I am just tackling the last few things before getting it on the road.
I picked up my intake manifold from the powdercoaters on friday and does it ever look good in black. Got around to installing it saturday.
https://farm1.staticflickr.com/585/20912026210_4327258d70_c.jpg
Still no garage at my place, so driveway tuning it is!
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5832/20912037270_85134dd096_c.jpg
Got it all buttoned up. it holds fuel pressure now which is a huge relief. The casting was so bad that the pressure would drop to zero as soon as the fuel pump would stop priming. I need to re-tap the coolant temp sensor as some of the powdercoating worked its way into the threads.
The next task was to trim the bumper to fit around the intercooler. The GTR bumper i had was already trimmed and fit right over the couplers and FMIC. This GTS bumper required a lot more massaging. Admittedly not my best job but im sure I'll be able to clean it up.
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5776/20477493374_c9d3e39031_c.jpg
Unfortunately I could not keep the vents in the side as they interfered with my piping so I am going to have to make some ducting so it looks less empty.
I picked up a new hood so now my car is the same colour black. I just have to do an alignment and I can get temp permits and take it for a shake down run. I just hope I can make the lip last :2f2f:

Yep. had to pull it off again. Unfortunately the coating did not seal the manifold and it would still not hold vacuum. This is unfortunate as I had to jump through hoops to get insurance on the car. And now its just sat in the diveway.
So whats next? well there is no way I can use the stock manifold. The silly cross over pipe will definitely not work with the current piping and re routed coolant lines.
I did a bit of research and came to the conclusion to buy a Plazmaman style manifold. I've vowed to not buy anymore chinese parts but with the upcoming wedding my budget isnt the biggest right now. The part also has a 90 day guarantee so if it doesnt work. worst case is I send it back.
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5664/21037597769_a2fea43c2d_c.jpg
I did a test fit with the lower manifold to make sure It still fits with the aftermarket fuel rail and such. I will need to weld up two of the stock coolant lines and I'll be good to go.
The longer runner length should be better suited to a street car and give the torqueless RB20 some of its low end power back.
No super 90's build would be complete without under car lighting.

I did. its the same style but its not a godspeed one. My friend put one on his RB without any issues, so i guess it is hit or miss. It came with a warranty so if its crap ill send it back or have the bottom surfaces planed so they are true.

Where did you get the clutch line from?
Its from a rally / performance shop in England. I bought it from their ebay store.
I received my Plazmamann style manifold and it needed machining (as expected). It should be done tomorrow. The gaskets showed up today so we should be good to go. It is 9038432908432098 times uglier than the old manifold I had but fingers crossed it will work
I got a bunch of odd jobs done on the car this past weekend. Intercooler brackets have been made and I did a bunch of fiberglass work on the Lip to get it back together.
Installed front underglow.

So the manifold came in and the bottom surface wasn't completely flat. I sent it out to have it machined flat so it lined up true with the lower runners. I mocked it up on the bench first, all the holes had to be re-tapped and the stock bolts had to be cut shorter and re threaded .
I then had to disassemble the entire thing because it wouldn't clear the brake lines. Installed the lower half and then put the top plenum back on in the car.
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5774/21201141644_c46d95bbdb_c.jpg
It definitely looks mediocre at best. Not as clean as the old manifold but 309284392 times better than the stock crossover pipe. Should equate to a better driving car at lower RPMs so theres that.
In changing the manifold there are a couple things that need addressing.
-The breaks in the wiring harness need to be redone as the IACV and other sensors have moved around a bit.
-The AN fitting on the front of the rail just touches the coolant temp sensor which is a bummer and will have to be looked into and changed.
-The cold piping has to be re welded to accomodate the new TB position. I've extended it with couplers but thats less than Ideal so it will need to be remade.
Martino came by and we did an alignment to at least get the car to the point where it can be driven to get the fenders rolled and the wheels fitted properly. We ran out of daylight and played with the under car lighting
https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5693/21833451071_dfdc3879a6_c.jpg

Yep that's the same problems we had when we installed that same manifold. Guess they're getting them from the same factory as godspeed. We also had to weld in a fitting for the pcv hose or something, I don't remember.

Thanks! I think it compliments the rest of the aero well. OEM +
As the saying goes: one step forward, two steps back :-/
The new manifold fit well (after modification). However, the fuel rail doesn't fit with the OEM lower portion of the manifold. The aftermarket rail, which came with the aftermarket manifold (the one which was coated black) wont tighten down on the OEM manifold which causes the injectors to leak.
Stock fuel rail to the rescue! which doesnt require the Tomei FPR or all the AN lines i splurged on. Oh well.

https://farm6.staticflickr.com/5688/22521504290_11671d0d0b_c.jpg
drove the car a whole 3km yesterday.
I didnt get any real pictures of the progress over the past two weeks. But the work consisted of tracing down many vacuum leaks, running lines to the heatercore (Motor came with looped lines) and routing vacuum / wiring neatly along the frame rails.
The car is mostly complete now minus the interior. Over the winter I plan on addressing the rotors and pads as well as picking up a greddy sandwich plate that can accommodate an oil cooler.

Hey yea I think we are! I ended out using just a cheapo ebay one that uses the stock lower runners. If you are going to go this route, you WILL need to have the part machined flat and most likely re tap all the holes.

Hey Dolph_KyaS13, not trying to copy your exact paint job but how did you go about painting your valve covers?
No worries.
I originally posted a how too in the valvecover thread but I keep getting PM's about this so here are my secrets revealed :-/
First I made an illustrator file for the shapes of the livery. It was damn near impossible to find a good pattern in high resolution but after searching forever I found someone had created and traced it in Illustrator.
I had the Shapes cut out in low tac vinyl at a local signage shop.
http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/tt121/Dolph_KYAS13/IMG_2320_zps077260c2.jpg (http://s604.photobucket.com/user/Dolph_KYAS13/media/IMG_2320_zps077260c2.jpg.html)
To prep the covers themselves, I sanded them down to remove the factory casting marks so the vinyl stencils would adhere and paint would not bleed.
http://i604.photobucket.com/albums/tt121/Dolph_KYAS13/DSC_0027_zps974cecad.jpg (http://s604.photobucket.com/user/Dolph_KYAS13/media/DSC_0027_zps974cecad.jpg.html)
I used zinc chromite primer (read the label follow the instructions) and primed the sanded valve covers.
First colour to go on was the red, I then used pin stripe tape to mask the red lines. The paint used was just Kylon spray paint I bought at Canadian Tire but im pretty sure its available at walmart in the states.
http://farm3.staticflickr.com/2841/9483479298_b3d05c785f_c.jpg
Once the red was all masked, I painted the covers purple. After leaving it to try overnight (there is a lot of waiting) I used the stencils to mask the purple part of the livery.
http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3730/9483483134_959d6f3187_c.jpg
It was just a matter of repeating the steps with the green, applying the stencils and then painting the whole thing black.
http://farm4.staticflickr.com/3760/9484251604_58a99f8f48_c.jpg
Once dry, carefully peel off the stencils. This is the best part as all the waiting pays off. After all the stencils were removed, I sprayed a thick coat of clear over the everything.
Like everything else painted, its all in the prep-work. I used regular primer at first and it did not adhere to the aluminum. Take your time and make sure everything is 100% dry between coats and stencil application and it should work out just fine.

Not too much going on here due to our incredibly pathetic canadian dollar. I still have my Hicas Steering hub adapter on its way from RHDjapan. I've never ordered through them but it seems to be taking a bit to get here.
I had priced out R33 GTR rotors and GKTech calliper adapters just before christmas but didnt pull the trigger on them due to the exchange rate.
By some magical stroke of luck I found a set locally which had never been fitted or used. I snapped them up for a fraction of what it would have cost me to order everything myself.
https://farm2.staticflickr.com/1562/24611866856_960c470827_c.jpg
The rotors are 324mm or 12.75" in diameter and should fill the Tommykaira wheels up nicely.
Speaking of Tommykaira, Zilvia user "harrypotter" sent me a care package which he had picked up at an auto show back in 2001.

No problem! It is just good to see those things go to someone that will put them to use. I can't believe they have been sitting for so long and now have a good home. Hope the stickers actually work being as old as they are!

I really would like to find a TommyKaira wheel to go along with the rest of the build. If not I will get the nismo one refinished.
The strut bar is heading off for blasting and powdercoat. I've found a company who will remake the Nismo stickers to really bring the strut bar back to 100%
Oh yea and get this fixed...hopefully its repairable but I have my doubts :ugh: I'd love to run the 18s all round this summer so fingers crossed.

The rotors are 324mm or 12.75" in diameter and should fill the Tommykaira wheels up nicely.
thanks for reading.

Took advantage of the B E A Utiful weather this past weekend and got lots of odds and ends done on the Skyline.
I installed my oil pressure gauge and confirmed that the RB20 does in fact have oil pressure and a faulty oil pressure sender was the culprit to the percieved low oil pressure. We also finished installing the braided lines and bled the brakes.

This past weekend I installed some swaybar endlinks to replace the old broken ones. Moog S chassis endlinks are Beefy. I replaced the rubber bushings with the ones I had lying around from the energy suspension kit.
https://c7.staticflickr.com/8/7396/26945974942_f796b09dcb_c.jpg
After that I got around getting the alignment to the point where I can drive the car without completely destroying the tires.
When I was working on the front I made sure both coilovers and adjustable arms were the same length. Still the car sat all funny. So I took the coilovers out and determined that whomever had to coilovers before me and had one "replaced" on of the R32 ones with one from an S Chassis and switched the top hats.
The result is one upper control arm has to be .5" longer and one coilover has to be 1.00 longer for the car to sit the same on both sides. Awesome.
despite all that, I got the car together and took it for a little nervous drive around the block. No issues aside from a low idle some belt squeal and a little rubbing from the pads on the rotors.
https://c8.staticflickr.com/8/7669/26618818943_6dfc03afca_c.jpg
Please excuse the front ride height for the above mentioned reasons.
With all these little issues, I didnt feel comfortable driving it to a pals bbq. Martino look me with him in the S15. I was pretty bummed I couldn't drive there but I had a great day of BBQ's and cruising around.

The nice weather is coming quick. Not too much to update as I have been super busy getting everything ready for the wedding on July 30th (which I will be driving to)
Had some friends by this weekend to knock some things off the list. We were all set to go the alignment and get the suspension all set up. Rolled the fenders to fit the wheels. We needed to add a bit of camber to get everything to fit perfect but Maxed out, the ISIS RUCAS only gave us 1 degree of adjustment. Awesome. Maybe I was sold S14 ones by accident or they are just really poorly designed.
I also added a cross bar to my cage for obvious reasons.
https://c4.staticflickr.com/8/7309/27574590651_59b308a893_c.jpg
https://c6.staticflickr.com/8/7243/27038437653_84ba1d234f_c.jpg
I know there were dreams of a rear seat delete but after driving around without an interior I realized I cannot deal with the noise. Maybe further down the line I will work on something but for now the seats provide the noise insulation I need.
The list is getting real short now, just a few things needed
-New RUCAS which actually allow for adjustment.
-Set Timing on the motor
-Before setting the timing, install aerocatch latches as my hood release cable broke.
-Install new highflow cat and get it Etested
https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7763/27038342633_abb5b598b1_c.jpg
I love how the car looks now. The full interior really makes the car feel complete
Some fine tuning of the suspension and it will be perfect

I have registered it as greymarket with driveclean. I do have a cat but to not have the stock cat overheat sensor anymore and a couple of the studs need to be cut and drilled out. Not a big deal, just a pain I dont want to deal with.

Fixed a bunch of little things on the weekend.
-Replaced old Chinese front upper control arms with some Nismo ones I scooped from an importer.
-Bled coolant
-replaced valvecover gaskets
-adjusted the clutch
Drove around the block (a few times) to make sure everything was good. No awkward noises or clunking so it was Etest time.

Dude you have no Idea. Im just driving around with a big idiot grin on my face.
First couple of drives were a great success. The car definitely needs an alignment. I had a bit of vibration on my quick highway pull but I believe the cause of that are the tires fighting each other.
Quick run up to the unit under its own power for the first time since 2011 :hsdance:

Little update
I drove the car to work for the first time on Monday. It felt awesome to be behind the wheel again after so long.
https://c5.staticflickr.com/8/7450/27515304044_ea66c1d5d1_c.jpg
So i have just been working out all the small issues as they come up. Remember that vibration at highway speeds? I found the culprit, Luckily when pulling out of the unit.
https://c2.staticflickr.com/8/7323/28130622385_43a3ac3a6b_c.jpg
I have never seen anything like this before. Back to stock Z32 rotors and upgraded pads for me. Im super lucky this didn't fail at highway speeds.
I got an alignment and the car drives beautiful now. The Zestinos are super sticky and the car corners awesome.
However I have an issue which I have read is common on S and R chassis cars. The issue being my passenger side wheel protrudes about 3/4" further than the driver side
Drivers Side (RHD)
https://c4.staticflickr.com/8/7508/28052051651_ec876657c0_c.jpg
Passengers Side
https://c7.staticflickr.com/8/7327/28027093462_9c83965e61_c.jpg
Nothing is bent, cracked or broken and The car drives amazing. My bet is that the alignment is square suspension wise but the body is not square to the alignment (if that makes sense) I have booked in with the alignment shop for Friday to see if we can figure it out.
The last issue I have is breakup at 4000RPM. it feels like the car hits a wall. Im going to check the coils, MAFS and plugs. Im sure the gas that has been sitting in the tank for 6+ months isnt helping at all either.
All small issues which will get sorted out soon enough.

What a busy week last week.
https://c8.staticflickr.com/9/8652/28251865655_2ccf04c849_c.jpg
Did some measuring and head scratching and realized that the rear quarter was pulled out slightly more on one side than the other causing my one wheel to poke more than the other. I pulled the fender a bit and now the rear fits great.
https://c2.staticflickr.com/9/8692/28251874345_61d95111d1_c.jpg
As for the misfire / hesitation @4K we tried everything. MAFS, Coils, Plugs, grounds, exhaust and everything in between. After 2 nights of scrambling, We then turned our attention to the fuel system and the culprit ended out being the inline -6an fuel filter.
Car runs great now.

Yea about that. A local publication had contacted Martino to do a mini video / writeup about 90's japanese cars and needed my car and his for the shoot this past sunday. Fair enough. Sunday morning came and we met at 8 am and set off.
We cruised around to "kill time" as the people we were meeting were behind schedule. No bother we grabbed a good breakfast and hit the road. It was roughly 200km to the track
https://c3.staticflickr.com/8/7334/28217802506_0521799baa_c.jpg
I was a little worried as it was the furthest i had driven the car since it was put back together. I kept falling off the Martinos bumper as I dont have a 6spd . got a text saying we needed to speed up and get there so it was hammer down.
Got to the track turned the corner and ....... SURPRISE...

Been super busy getting stuff ready for the wedding which is two weeks away now. Lots of the little issues have been worked out. but I do need to address some things.
Ive been driving the car around a bit the past couple weeks. I need to do some heat management around the hot side of the motor. i've ordered some sleeve to better protect the wiring and catch can lines.
I also plan on making a heat shield for the top of the manifold. The cast manifold that is on the motor right now has had the heat shield mounting holes "shaved" so I cant use the factory mounting locations.

Awesome that your friends and family did that for you. This thread makes me desperately want an r32 gtr again. Id put it off for a while seeing as they had just become legal stateside just over a year ago. But now thanks to this awesome build thread i may have to revisit that idea.

Now I'm back and enjoying the car again. Its nice to have time to work on things again.
I really need to finalize the wiring for the undercar lighting as well as put the Tommy kaira livery on.
I am already getting power hungry and might have to chuck a rb25 turbo on in the next couple of weeks as well.

Loving this man. Has been a really good read.

I had wired everything up to have the LED module in the back seat area of the car. Since im now running back seats, I have to extend the wiring for the LED strip under the front.

Thanks! Its not really a "build thread" so to say. Its more of a life with a 25yr old nissan thread :-/
I have an intermittent misfire in cyl 6. Im going to chuck on a new igniter to see if that makes a difference. It could be the old coilpacks or crappy coilpack harness which in reality should both be replaced. Splitfires or yellow jackets run around 500 CAD with our awesome exchange rate + another 100 for a harness is just a little spendy.
I've also started looking into upgrading to LS2 Coilpacks and converting to that over the winter I just need to figure out where to mount them cleanly. I kinda limited myself by not wanting to lose the coilpack cover I machined or cover up the valvecovers.
In other news I washed it this weekend and went for a little drive to the shop to see what was up.

We learned mine is a custom order being a 5 speed sedan with full options. Power everything AC. Etc. And TH1 blue. Which as far as we know is coupe only. I've only seen a few TH1 GTRs and a couple coupes. 1 S13. Still never another sedan.
Probably doing the Tommy Kaira kit for mine also. But I have to mod the skirts because back doors.
On top of finding them. Haven't even really looked yet. Can't decide which direction of kits and shit I want. But whatever.

I've finally got to the bottom of the misfiring issue I think. I checked the ECU for codes and it came back saying MAFS and Coolant Temp Circuit. I cleaned the MAFS and ordered a new coolant temp sensor. I also switched the ECU for a mines one I had as a spare.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8313/29614417152_38c5c9a499_c.jpg
I'm kind of skeptical using this ECU because I'm not too sure what it is exactly tuned for. I'm assuming its the standard speed cut and a tune to correct for basic boltons (exhaust, intercooler, BOV ect.)
It came from a buddy who used it for a couple years in his car and he swears by it. Plugged it in and the car runs much better with it over the stock ECU I had.
i have not had any sort of stereo in the car since its been on the road and have been looking into replacing my trusty knockoff beats pill with something i don't have to take out and charge every other day.
https://c4.staticflickr.com/9/8682/28313893315_0e8afdb50b_c.jpg
Every stereo headunit (aside from the panasonic "ghost" which i had in my old hatch) are extremely tacky looking and I would like to retain my climate control, din gauges and cupholders.
I had planned on piecing together a "headunitless" bluetooth system which would just stream from my old Iphone. After doing a bit of searching I found a 1200W bluetooth amp for boats for less than $50.
https://c3.staticflickr.com/9/8211/29712945946_337a88befc_c.jpg
I am a bit skeptical because the reviews for it were not the greatest. The bluetooth controller is HIDEOUS but it can easily be stuffed away somewhere. I've tested it with the two rear speakers and so far as I can tell it performs better than my knockoff beats pill so that's a win for me.
Sometime this week I will do a proper install with all 4 speakers. I just need to figure out what wires go to the front speakers and wire them up.
Also yesterday I went to my first Cars and Coffee event. I normally stay away from car meets as they tend to attract an immature crowd. Usually all the "adult" car meets around my house are just filled with 70's american cars so i was excited to see different things.

so its that time of year again when one runs out of light to do anything at 730. I installed the Pyle bluetooth amp over a couple of nights. I had to take everything apart and run new speaker wire for the rears and do a continuity test on the front speakers to see where everything went.
https://c8.staticflickr.com/9/8202/29256190783_f3b5a8cc45_c.jpg
I wired everything up, mounted the amp under the rear parcel shelf, solder & heatshrink'd all the connections turned it on and the amp would only play one channel. (think of if your headphone jack is pulled out halfway). Ripped it all out and returned it for a full refund. I should have listened to the reviews.
Plan B was to wire up a kenwood deck I had planned on using before my period correct OCD took over.

Yea. A friend of mine became a distributor so I thought id give em a try. With everything going on this summer the car hasnt seen much track time but during that one skidpad day we had the fronts worked really well. Theyre great in the rain as far as I can tell too.

Mine came with my car. You should be able to get blown ones for cheap but take them apart and wire in some new replacement speaker units. That way you could get the same look and feel but benefit from better quality speaker units.

Finally managed to go up north of the city with a couple friends and enjoy the bumpy twisty roads. The first leg of the drive was really technical but the roads were so bad that we couldnt take advantage of them. We thought of turning around but then were blessed with 7-10kms of twisty new pavement.

https://c1.staticflickr.com/6/5710/30015729664_cc1e26abd8_c.jpg
Now im keen to give it a go. Our local drifting scene in ontario is abysmal (youtube shannonville drift to get the gist of it) There are closer tracks to me which do not condone drifting but offer evening lapping events weekly and are reasonably priced.
Winter plans are not that extensive.
- New Coilovers (my fronts have self lowered since driving this year)
- JDM Trinket Bucket Seat
- Rails (Been eyeballing street faction rails but who knows)
- Change the rear tires from 255/35 to 225/40 (Same tires just different sizes)
- Maintenance stuff (Speedo Cable and other oddities)
- I still want to swap out the wing for something else. but YJP prices have skyrocketed lately :-/
Till next time.

The Skyline is still locked away for the winter. Not much of a build but I've recently got better pictures from our friend on our fall drive outing. Whilst we were all playing with cell phone cameras he managed to get some real shots.
Enjoy:

New Coilovers and smaller rear tires should fix the awful rake the car developed over the summer.

Once Christmas is over I will get to stockpiling some parts to make this car more enjoyable for lapping days. I already cant wait for winter to be over.

This lip was made for (and is readily available) GTR. I modified it to fit the GTS bumper which is considerably narrower.

Happy New Year to everyone, I hope you all had a great holiday season.
Lets kick 2017 off with some 90s Confetti! There was really no other option for a super period build.

I managed to pick this up at a local importers for about what they were going for on YJP. Saved a bunch by not having to pay for shipping or duties which sealed the deal for me.
They only had the one seat which leaves the option open for a fixed bucket for a drivers. Alternatively I could just get a matching seat as they are not that uncommon.
My wife got me a GoPro Session for Christmas to use at the track next year too. Im pretty happy with the quality of pictures and phone integration. With it came the $20 dog mount for good laughs.

Winter is finally over. Went and grabbed the car from storage this past weekend. Started up without any drama switched the wheels over to some spares and drove it home.
I need to check the seal on the sandwich plate as it seemed to have seeped oil a bit as it sat over the winter. Other than that its all good.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2867/33212661314_14394c600a_c.jpg
I wasted no time getting the Recaro bolted in place. Over the winter I ordered Bride MO rails for the passenger side.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2809/33264112754_2996354397_c.jpg
They fit alright but the part that attaches the seatbelt was fouling on the seat as it slid. I bent it slightly to get everything to play nice together.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2835/33329557183_4801812b22_c.jpg
The interior is coming together nicely now. The Pièce De Résistance is still on a boat coming from the motherland.

Woo! Summer tiiiiiiime :2f2f:
Its still taking a while to get there with the cooler temps and rain but its still better than winter. Any break in the weather I have been trying to fix little things on the car.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2823/33360504564_814c1497f0_c.jpg
I had to change my diff as my old one went bad. It was causing so much resistance in the driveline that the car wouldnt roll when you were stopped on a slight hill at a light ect. So a used one was temporarily picked up from a friend and put in. works much better now.
I ended out getting a new set of HSD coilovers to replace the used set I bought in 2010. The car rides so much nicer now and I was also able to get rid of the rear poke I had on one side of the car. I think I will go to a 225/40 in the rear so i can lower the back a little more as the 255 Zestinos are a little much for a stock RB20
https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2855/34305902056_61cf4c9ca1_c.jpg
Other than that I have just been enjoying the car. Driving it to work most days and cruising with friends

https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4199/34993650141_6248cddf26_c.jpg
Needs a good vacuum  but the seat completes the interior quite nicely.

Got the seat bracket mounting issues sorted. I forgot what driving with a bucket seat is like. It completely transforms how the car feels.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4235/34884644220_e6f7478578_c.jpg
Ive got another matching 46mm oil temp gauge on the way to replace the dead one in the DIN pocket. The plan its to relocate the larger 60mm gauges on the column to the dash.
I need a Speedo Cable (I had ordered an Apexi RSM but it came with a blown up board and didnt power up) and I should be ready to pull the dash to replace the heater core. I want everything here so it can be done over a weekend. Then the interior will be finished.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4262/34462410073_b79bba9e07_c.jpg
Since last years surprise skidpad day was a huge hit, a group of us have rented it again this coming Saturday for some sliding and a bbq.
I replaced the seemingly viper sized rear tires with some budget 225/40/18, lowered the rear a bit and got everything aligned.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4223/34580000613_a1ec44ebde_c.jpg
As much as I love the meaty tire look and really grippy tires, the 255/35/18 Zestinos were too much for the car and rode really harsh. Its nice to be able to rotate the car with the gas pedal now.
https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4199/35414133485_740f84ecb6_c.jpg
After the new tires, seat and alignment the car is so much more enjoyable to drive.
In non R chassis related news, the 4runner bug has bit me really bad. I am currently on the hunt for a Hilux to take over Daily duties and have started designing a rear bumper for a friends truck.

Its been a while since I have updated this but what an interesting season 2017 has been so far.
Ive had to do some small maintenance things on the car but nothing too major
Replacing the heater core was the biggest job so far this season.
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4358/36797896546_826863512e_c.jpg
I took the time with the dash out to relocate my gauges to the side of the cluster which I feel makes them lots easier to read.
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4439/37011032845_6b6004119b_c.jpg
aside from the heater core ive had to do the following maintenance / repairs (as one would with any 25 year old car)
- new Greddy sandwich plate (mine wouldnt seal around the sensor anymore)
- reseal the valve cover gaskets
- injector seals
- repair a small pinhole in the fuel tank
- reseal one of the wheels
Apart from those minor setbacks, the car has been pretty flawless and i've been driving it most days and ive also done some lengthy roadtrips across Ontario without issue.
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4285/35554595550_7755e8a1f2_c.jpg
Went to a couple weddings

Cruised with Doggo

as well as other car pals
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4402/36941348010_c611805895_c.jpg
I also tried on GTR wheels
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4328/35983954711_16f272805c_c.jpg
And TE's
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4318/35983947651_c4210a8a09_c.jpg
But I suppose the highlight of the season has been organizing and running smaller skidpad , drift days / BBQs
Its no secret that the missile crisis is strong here in Ontario Canada. the events are littered with $300 Bmws and Mustangs and are pretty much a free for all.
Our first skidpad day was an invite only event for close friends. Over the course of the summer it has evolved into "D1SP" which has seen drivers come from both Canada and the US.
The whole idea was to get rid of the riff-raff and set up an event with decent people and decent cars
By the 3rd round D1SP had gained a bit of a following and the event was a huge success.

Dave @stanceiseverything came by and did a great little writeup, check it out below

Removed the spoiler and test fitted some new track wheels. Buddy Club P1 in 16x8+22, so slightly more aggressive then OEM R32 GTR wheels. The plan is to have them refinished over the winter and find some more appropriate track rubber.
I had always found the spoiler to be a bit too aggressive against the rounder Tommykaira Sides and rear valance. It needs something, just need to figure out what that something is :D
I like how you have a R32 in the blueprints for the house.

I had to make sure the garage would be adequate. The plans for the house are now in the hands of the city's planning division so hopefully we hear back soon.
was able to go out for a last cruise with some local guys before storage. A friend wanted to shoot the cars with film so im excited to see how that comes out.
https://farm5.staticflickr.com/4468/38001064991_e6dd4839f4_c.jpg
I also recently replaced the transmission mount with a nismo unit. The car had developed a clunk over the summer so I got it in the air and saw that the stock mount had completely torn. words cant begin to describe how much better the car drives when the driveline is fastened to the vehicle.
My replacement speedometer cable and clutch slave cylinder (which i noticed was seeping a little) have also arrived. Those will have to wait until next season though as unfortunately the car is now in storage for the winter.

Been quite some time since we've had an update.
The car is still sleeping and tucked away for the winter. I have managed to pick up a "OP6" RB25 Neo turbo which is on its way from Japan right now. It was pulled from an automatic car with 65kms on it so it should be in decent shape.
To match the new turbo, I have also picked up some 444cc GTR injectors and required resistor box. I also worked a Garage Saurus tuned ECU into the deal which should get get up and running until I can get the car ROM tuned.
The ECU is currently tuned for the RB25 turbo @ 14 PSI, GTR injectors, Z32 MAFS (I'll need to source one) and the usual mods like intake / exhaust/ front mount. But unlike the MINES ecu I am currently running, the Garage Saurus board isn't epoxied and can be retuned.
I am also trying to work out a deal on an HKS cast manifold which would be right at home in my engine bay. fingers crossed for that.
As I have slowly been collecting parts for the car, we have made HUGE progress on our house.
We were granted all of the variances we were asking for as well as received our certificate for zoning. Plans have been submitted for the building permit so we should be able to start construction in the next month or so.
