Can the s15 temperature gauge work with a s13 redtop engine ?
And if it is possible How ?

U mean the sensor? Or u mean the actual guage on the cluster????
To my knowledge the actual tempature sensor's on s13-s15 rb's are all the same including the tempature sensor switch.

Thanks Primo for replying.
I am talking about the actual gauge on the instrument cluster .....
Sensor is ok -i even tried a few different sensors (z32 etc... no luck at all)

Anyone knows how to make it work ? The guy that did the harness said temp gauge in the s15 instrument cluster gets a signal from the s15 ecu.Is that true? IS there any way to make it work ?

You need to replace the 1 wire temp sender on the engine with a S14/15 version. The resistance is different on the S13.

The temp sender was replaced with a s15 version but it still did not work.As i said the engine is a redtop s13 ,the harness and ecu are the stock s13 ones but are installed on a s15.
If the sender is connected directly to the meter should it work ? Is what i was told (that a s15 ecu and harness is needed for the temperature gauge to work) bullshit ?
How the temp sender wire should be connencted on the temperature gauge/instrument cluster ?

Any ideas ? Am I the only one that uses a s13 redtop on a s15 ?
If the temperature sender of an s15 is connected properly with the instrument cluster but without the s15 ecu could it work ?

Now i think i got it.
I asked the guy if he changed the 1 wire temp (dash) sensor and he did not.....probably thats the problem.
If i use a s14 1 wire temp sensor would it do the trick ?
I found only a s14 (25080-89907) sensor and not something specific for a s15

Yes, this is what we have been saying. The S14/S15 are the same. S13 is different.

It worked like a charm !!! I bought from a nissan dealeship an oem sensor for 23 euro (30 dollars ) and with an additional resistance it worked perfectly !!!!
Many many thanks without the information here the interior of my beloved s15 would look like shit...
