Well, Im looking to purchase a 240sx, and one came up where I live.

Anyway, I feel as if $6500 is a bit steep for a basically stock car.
Here is the craiglist link: http://hartford.craigslist.org/cto/4668037977.html

Anyway, do you think this is a fair price?

Sorry if this is the wrong section, I am new here!

It is probably worth about 4 to 5k. 6500 is pretty steep for a stock s14.

my opinion

115k on the clock is pretty low

stock zenkis dont normally go for more than around 5500$
LOOK AT THE CAR FIRST

offer him 5500$ and go from there
impressive mialge but wouldnt pay more than 6k$

Dude I just played this game. I was looking for a s14 build, and even in California, where there is no fear of RUST, 5k gets you a piece of shit beater with a list of small problems that add up. If you find that this car is solid and has no issues, then try to get it for 6 or something. BTW I said screw it and traded my car in for a 370Z yesterday :)

If you are in a place where they are rusted to hell and this one is rust free, it can be worth it. Illinois salts the roads so much that a 5k car turns into a 7k car by the time you can transport it back home from the salt free state it came from. I would say 5k if its clean, and you can find clean cars often enough. 6k if they are rare. Lets face it, they are a dying breed..

See how it's lowered, on cut springs or legit springs, look under it for rust, and test drive it. Beat him up on the price over every little thing you find wrong. If he has it at $6k he has wiggle room. People who do a lot of business on craigslist over price their stuff because they know craigslist buyers will always beat them up over the price.

I bet if you played your cards right and waved 4k-4500 in his face he'd take it. If he doesn't take your offer don't be afraid to walk away... They usually call back in a couple hours asking if you'll still do it.

a car is only worth its money if its maintained...

unless you're willing and able to do the work needed to make it a reliable car

personally, i think thats a lot of money for these cars nowadays. there are a lot of better (ie: newer) cars for the money.

oh BTW, the less it's modded, the more it's worth in my opinion. Unless if you're spending 5 figures on a completely done car you could just be dealing with hack jobs and low quality garbage parts

$6500 is outrageous... How do people still have liens on 20 year old cars? wtf

$6500 for a stock Zenki?!? Geezus... I need to post my shit for sale so I can buy a vastly superior 350Z for the same price...

Great advice man. Will do, and $4k is more in my price range haha.
Also, thanks everyone for the great help!
