Hey guys. i'm in the final stages of my RHD RB25 build. I'm running into one major issue. The clutch master hits my front facing intake mani. I've looked on Google for quite a long time trying to find a remedy as far as a shorter master cylinder I can use. The common verdict was to use a R33 clutch master because they're much shorter.

Are any of you aware of any clutch masters from USDM Nissans that would use a short master? I tried rotating the motor so the intake sat further down but it wasn't enough. Same with going the other way. Also, I don't want to rotate the motor too much because RB's apparently need to mounted at a 10* canted angle and I don't want the shifter being sideways. Any ideas are appreciated.

I used one from a 96-99 Pathfinder.

AMERICAN REMANUFACTURERS INC. Part # 2304012 $13.75 on closeout from Rockauto.

Did you change out the rod or was it fine? Was the thread the same for the clutch line?

I just bought one from a 2000 maxima and planning to install it in my 180sx this weekend. I read previously someone was successful. But I'll let you know how it goes. The line threading is the same, I know that for sure. I threaded in my clutch master cylinder bleed tool, the same I used in my s13.

Just looked at a photo of it and it looks pretty similiar in size to the pathfinder one, actually. Let me know how it goes! I just ordered the pathfinder one but i want to see if the maxima one works also as i have buddy going through the same issue

I have personally had this issue aswell.
I ran one from an 01 xterra. Worked like a champ!

So now we have 3 potential fixes for this haha. I ordered a Pathfinder one this am and I'm going to pick up the maxima one tonight. I'll see if they have a xterra one also for comparison

Haha amen to that! I'm thinking about making a thread of all the debated issues and different options as far as RB25's in s13's go. A lot of information everywhere but I want to make a consolidated thread. Kinda like the RB FAQ's but not 10 pages long hah

The maxima, xterra, and pathfinder of those generations seem to be the same, all have 5/8" bore diameters also.

Yes, the rod threads and line fittings are all the same. Piston bore diameter is 5/8" like ProjectPanda13 says, which is the same as stock s13.

So I had a chance to compare side my side my oem 180sx cmc to the maxima cmc I bought. The rod is much shorter. Even extending the rod to the fullest doesn't reach the pedal mounting hole.

Top is OEM RHD S13 CMC and bottom is 2000 Maxima CMC

P. S.
A 240sx cmc works out the best for me. It gave me enough rod length to engage and disengage my clutch.

I ended up using the Maxima master cylinder and just swapping the rod from the 180sx cylinder the Maxima one. Worked great for me!
