so my s14 rb25 stock doesnt have anywhere near the power
as some guys s13 completely stock rb25.
all i have is an isis intake
3inch straight from the turbo with the stock KA24 cat.
the s13 pulls so much more harder than my rb does.
nothing wrong with my rb, no misfire, no shake, no overheating, nothing.
i dont understand why my engine is weak.
i thought maybe the cat was not letting enough airflow, but for that
MUCH big a difference i dont think it would do it.
hes running stock boost stock everything.

Start with boost leaks, make sure you are actually at stock boost.
If no leaks, look at your turbo....it may be going out.
What throttle body are you using with your intake?

i dont think i have any boost leaks, ebc always stays at 6.5 which is stock with no drops.
turbo has no shaft play at all.
stock throttle body.
compared to the s13 rb. my car runs like an integra -___________-
think maybe the stock ka cat is restricting airflow? cause my top end sucks big time

perhaps your buddy is running more boost than he is letting on. Stock boost is right at 7 psi. Perhaps running too rich.
Cat may be restricting things.....hack it off.
Could be any number of things. Any codes from your ECU?

nothing from my ecu,
sounds like hes running stock boost.
even takeoff is extremely more powerful then mine.
i looked in his bay and everything is stock. even the turbo is stock
what about timing?
any idea what my timing should be at?

Timing should be about 15*

Also, know which signal your light needs to be accurate (low vs high tension)

Yup checked timing. Set it at 15 degrees. Runs ugly. Always idles fine though.
I even checked the timing belt. Its all correct.
I verified by reading the vin on the block that it IS an rb25.
All thats left is to remove that cat. But I doubt itll make much a difference

Explain more about running "ugly"
Does disconnecting the TPS make a difference in idle?

Check compression of the cylinders.

^ what he said,
and try resetting your ECU. Saw your other thread about getting your EBC figured out. ECU may be in limp mode, pulling timing, fuel cut.....or just plain mad at you. Disconnect the battery and walk away for a while.

+1 for compression test
do a fuel pressure test to make sure your getting the correct fuel pressure as well.
I had a problem with my SR getting weaker...started looking around..checked maf and turbo and all that..still happened and got worse..sooner or later it just totally shitted out on me...turns out fuel pump was slowly dying, then finally took a shit...threw in a walbro and a z32 fuel filter and shes running great now. make sure your not to rich or lean.
MAF cleaner spray (you can get it from your local autozone about $7) wouldn't hurt either if you haven't cleaned it in a while. I've seen dirty and neglected maf's restrict power, as the engine cant properly mix the AFR...
also unplug TPS see if it runs any different.
Oh yeah, and is your ECU throwing any codes? as mentioned above certian codes can send the car to limp mode where it wont rev past 3-4k iirc

Ugly as in during high rev it misses.
I already cleaned maf.
I just removed the cat causeni thought it was clogged still nothing
Last thing is to check compression. when I disconnect the tps It doesnt idle higher or lower.
Also smells like a lot of gas, but I believe due to the evap hose thats just sitting there from the ka24delol
Im completely lost fellas!!
Runs idles drives fine.
but driving hard feels like it wont even hit 15 sec 1/4
I doubt itll be a headgasket issue since my engine idles and drives very smoothly

When you do the compression check look at the plugs for fouling.
If the compression check is okay.
I suggest pulling the engine wiring harness and de-looming it to verify all the wiring.
If you don't want to do that get a consult cable so you can read what the ECU is seeing. I don't know how that works with the stock ECU, I have a Nistune'd Z32 ECU and it makes it stupid simple to troubleshoot being able to see what the ECU thinks is going on.
Also you should ditch the stock ECU anyways, the thing is more useful as a paperweight.

I have wiring specialties harness.
Consult cable? Is that for tuning purposes only?
I really want to get a tunable ecu so I can dial some settings in myself. Lol
Ill do the compression check tomorrow. Hopefully everything is running fine
