If it's any consolation, the problem seems huge because we put a spotlight on it. I'm sure most of us don't see deathtraps like Ratchet40gang or PaisaDrift everyday... Seems like this thread is full of nitpicking now. The only things that are questionable about this car are the obscene amount of stickers everywhere and the bombed dash, I definitely wouldn't consider this car 'doing it wrong' though. But this thread and the original both don't really work as it's all a matter of personal opinion whether someone is doing it right or wrong. Sure, sometimes the shit these #ratchet40gang and other missile circlejerkers do is ugly as sin or just outright dangerous, but you KNOW there's some idiot out there who thinks broken aero and spraypainted hubcaps looks cool.

The only cars I straight up hate in FD are Jones' S14 and Landreville's. Ladreville's is everything wrong with SChassis these days, and Jones' is just shit. Field's is disappointing, the 3Dstar has so much more potential than he's utilized, and a lot of that is the S14.5 and the shitty height/livery. I maintain most of these other cars posted could be really damn cool with different livery.

He used to drive an LS14, and from what I recall, he never qualified once.

An LS14 is probably the easiest car to drift in the world, and he sucked with it.

I understand the want for having a nice looking car, but the fact of the matter is, if iv got 200 dollars left of my car budget and i have to decide between entering the next time attack event, or replacing my cable tied front bar, i would rather drive it and look shit than miss the event and look clean..

We own performance cars, so in my opinion the focus of an s chassis car should be on driving it and enjoying the drive. There is a substantial difference between the rat-chet cars, the hilariously beat up drift missile for sale earlier up in the thread, and the 'badly stickered' cars that are all contained in this one thread of 'doing it wrong.'

Ratchet - Terrible and doing it wrong, i believe that.
Bashed up drift car - It's what its for, if you're going to be a good drifter or racer you are going to bin your car, its the way it is.. I'd rather people spend money on becoming a good driver than having an always clean car then constantly looping it in front of me.
Bad sponsor stickers - Obviously none of you understand how sponsors work.. If big dick sponsors wanted to stick dicks all over my car but it meant I got to enter every event and drive with the best parts and the best tyres and whatever else, I wouldnt give a shit what my car looks like..

I think you guys are focusing too much on what other people see, not what other people experience. Yes a fully kitted perfect fitment perfect painted car will look better doing 4th gear entries than a shitty bashed up missile, but the guy with the clean car needed to learn at some stage, and his car would have looked alot like the smashed up car whilst he was learning..

Bashed up drift car - It's what its for, if you're going to be a good drifter or racer you are going to bin your car, its the way it is.. I'd rather people spend money on becoming a good driver than having an always clean car then constantly looping it in front of me.
Bad sponsor stickers - Obviously none of you understand how sponsors work.. If big dick sponsors wanted to stick dicks all over my car but it meant I got to enter every event and drive with the best parts and the best tyres and whatever else, I wouldnt give a shit what my car looks like..

Yes a fully kitted perfect fitment perfect painted car will look better doing 4th gear entries than a shitty bashed up missile, but the guy with the clean car needed to learn at some stage, and his car would have looked alot like the smashed up car whilst he was learning..

I suppose I just don't see why that s13 looks as terrible as some of you are making it out to be. Yes, ideally, I would have designed it differently, but then thats a pure preference thing, its not even someone doing it wrong. You'd want your livery to look different to me to the next guy, its one of those extremely niche things where 2 people wont want it exactly the same.

Another thing: if you were to remove all the ugly (I know, personal opinion) sponsor stickers from a Formula Drift car, and just look at it as any other modified car? It would look bad. Stupid ride height, the wheels are a joke, fitment is terrible, random aero with no style, I think missing window trim was mentioned above (keep in mind these are obviously generalizations--Forrest Wang's car would look pretty damn sweet as a non-FD car imo), and yeah, it's true that they're competition cars, but isn't drifting at least a little about style? It used to be, at least. Now, who knows.

I understand the want for having a nice looking car, but the fact of the matter is, if iv got 200 dollars left of my car budget and i have to decide between entering the next time attack event, or replacing my cable tied front bar, i would rather drive it and look shit than miss the event and look clean..

SO many of these fucking FRS drivers rally behind the '86' when most would DETEST what Takumi Fuji-fucking-wara's car looks like and stood for when it was gaining popularity overseas. The 'American' stuff is not just the V8 swap. Have you noticed that a lot of these car clubs out here that are internet famous and actually DO turn out nice cars are still fundamentally flawed? I'm sick of seeing their 'freeway cruising' videos with some fucking Whiz Khalifa playing. I hate the 'Twerk it, Miley' stickers. I despise the need to incorporate SWAG into fucking everything. Just a thought, I went to hot import nights yesterday.. and usually attend them, because I have fun (drink a few beers before going in) flirt with the models, look at some cars etc.. But anyways, I tend to think the cars are a bit cleaner.. But the crowd who enjoy car shows are alot different than these so called "drifters"... I know people I would not invite to the shows due to the attitude that "good looking cars are lame/its all about performance/fake wheels are just as good as real ones" yadda yadda

Naw, look closely and you'll notice the other door is the same. Someone spent the time to mold over the stock doors and turn out those abominations by the look of the body line in it.

We have a 71 sprint drag car..... runs 9:90s with a built 400 at 13:1 compression, plus a little spray. nothing wrong with El Camino drag cars.

Using them to Auto-X might not be the best plan...

Anyways. That S13 has good fitment (by my standards, at least) and the kit fits better than anything else posted in the thread, that's for sure. Like our friend from Finland said, this is just a difference of taste. But even though the wheel selection matches the exterior finish, it just makes the whole car seem a lil "off" in my books.
