Chaning cabin filter?

I have an S13 and I was wondering how hard it is to change the cabin filter on them, or if it's even worth it. I imagine you have tear open most of the dash to get to it, but I haven't looked at it yet.

it wont be worth the effort unless you ride in A/C all day. even then you are not in the car for more than couple hours a day. not worth it. i know many cars have cabin filter, never heard about s13 or s14 tho. you never know. :rant2:

I don't know if we do, I'm just assumg that if Nissan engineered an HVAC system that they would have used a cabin filter with it. Maybe not.

My old VW had one that was quite nasty and changing it make a nice difference.

i think we do. i remember seeing something about it in the owners manual.

I've removed my A/C and fan assembly completely and there was no filter of which to speak in my car (90 s13 coupe)

Though looking at the amount of dust caked on the sides of the vents and fan assembly, a filter might not be a bad idea.

If the owners manual shows provisions for placement of a filter, go fer it.

If I am not mistaken Nissan didn't start putting cabin filter until '99 model year at list on Nissan Frontiers. I know this because my '98 model Frontier doesn't have one and they where making it as a big deal at the dealer. I was talking to them about having one install on my truck was told it is not possible.

its an air filter for the interior airspace, a big waste of cash UNLESS you are into the finer luxuries
