is there an advantage to these (ie tanabe coilovers)?

and for those that have rebuidable coilovers, is the overhaulig process really a PITA (downtime, cost)?

hmm anyone?
reason I ask is because I'm trying to move into a coilover set up from springs/shocks... I wanted to have a good entry level coilover to learn on for now... hence the quesiton.

I've never heard of a "Sealed Case damper"??

Is that like an inverted-strut coilover?

well I was a lil confused regarding tanabe's overhaul policy on their coilovers, so I emailed them and they replied their coilovers (at least the s0c and SS lines) use a sealed case design and cannot be rebuilt. Just trying to find out if there's a particular reason/the actual mechanics behind it since I have not found anything on google yet.

Maybe it means that the entire thing is a damper with threadings on it so the actually damper can't be removed/rebuilt??

I think he's right.. It should be either a replacable insert or the damper is replaced (probably cheaper do that than rebuild the dampener).

isnt tanabe a twin tube damper anyways?
well as of now i know tein services dampers.. ie.. replacement. not sure as to how long they take though..

also endless/zeal does rebuilding of dampers.. internally.. and once they get the damper they can get it done in a day or 2 and send it back out.. the killer is shipping.

josh, do you guys carry tanabe s0c type 2? I just found out (called tanabe) that they also sell them w/ 8/6 spring rates (as opposed to 6/4) for the S14...
