let me get this straight

i read on a different forum that:

s13 89-90 were pignose coupes and fastbacks
s13 91-93 were newer bumper coupes fastbacks and verts
s13 94 just auto verts
s14 95-96 were only coupes no fast back s14s at all
s14 97-98 same but different tail lights and headlights(projectors)


i always thought the s13 was 89-90 w/ no le or se, just a few options, no set packages

and the s14 was 91-98 w/ set le and se packages. i knew about the 94 auto verts, but i wasnt quite sure about the s13 and s14 years. and i thought for some reason that there were also s14 fastbacks...

i need a little clarification on this, please dont flame me, im just tryin to get my facts straight

IIRC on the 89-90 SE was available.

89-90 240sx USDM engine= KA24E SOHC engine.

1991-On 240sx USDM engine=KA24DE DOHC engine.

And NO s14 fastbacks.

yeah, now that i look around, i find no s14 fastbacks, and i knew about the on the sohc89-90 vs dohc 91-98. i thought that s14 were dohc and s13 were sohc so i put two and two together and thought, s13-89-90 and s14 91 up...thanks for straightening that up so fast

alrighty, i, for some reason, thought it was some sort of abreviation specifically centered on cars...ive been on forums since late november and im still learnin this stuff. im a kid too, i should know this stuff about chatting and what not...im on nico, but i dont go there that much cuz all the members are generally older hard core car enthusiests, me im just a 16 yr old tryin my best to make my car reliable and decent looking

Did you do the mods on your own car? Is it an S13?

its an 89 hatch. no i didnt do any of the mods, they were all added by the previous owner(or two). the exhaust however was my doing. the sub and amp of course came with the car, and were found in a golf course so they suck, but its a nice addition to my system. the sportlines are alright, but they arent complimented by shocks, so the ride is rough, and one of the shocks i somehow blown. for some reason it doesnt extend past the normal ride height like the rest do. the cat-back was done by a local shop for 180 bucks, 2.5 inch tubing with high flow no name muffler, i think 2 or 2.5 inch tip. sounds alright, but still backfires everyonce in a while. working on fixing the backfire soon. the maxima rims are heavy, but look decent on the car. ill see if i can get some pics up soon. or maybe someone can downsize them because my computer is stupid and wont let me use photoshop...

i have no clue about kouki and zenki, or chuki. it'd be nice to know those too

zenki = early model

chuki = middle model

kouki = late model

When it comes to the S13....we got the zenki (89-90) and chuki (91-94) model....in Japan they had the kouki model. As for the S14....zenki (95-96) and kouki (97-98).
