My girlfriend just moved to England a little over a month ago and shes already gone to a few junkyards. She has gotten a pair of glass headlights for the zenki S14 but I was wondering if there's anything else I should have her on the look out for? Are there any other parts that are different than their US counterparts? Thanks.

UK glass headlights aren't anything special. Identical to JDM more or less. It's the LHD (continental Europe) headlights that are valuable.

eh, either way.
UK lights have the beam pattern all effed up.
If you like blinding oncoming traffic and not being able to see signs, that's cool, I guess.

if I'm not mistaken...you can always switch the lense with the USDM housing

So dramatic  I've had my Jap spec lights for over a year. They don't blind on-coming traffic...don't believe that nonsense. They do point to on-coming but are not bright enough to bother. USDM are nothing quality and are so fogged up to notice the diff which points left or right.

This may be possible...I've never tried, but I don't think youd want to. USDM looks real cheap inside. Euro and Jap have real nice housings.

interesting....I always thought it was the same material for the inside reflectors.

no, the japanese has black housing and looks different. The first time i saw a pair in person i knew it was not usdm off the bat. it wasn't that the plastic was any clearer looking, but the inside housing and reflectors just look a bit nicer and different.

The US-spec is two housings as one. Jspec is two seperate housings and the outside cover is less foggy cause it has less patterns but they are still a lil yellow. They are not blacked out inside but look like they are...don't know why  I don't have Euro-spec but they look like they have the same type of housings inside just pointing in the right direction.

and were can i get the jspec reflectorsMy guess would be jspec.com? My brother is sending me some JDM Zenki clear lenses and im going to see if i can mount it to the USDM housing. I'll post pics when im done. :boink:

Can you see if there are any Euro spec S14 rear bumpers, and how much they go for? They have two additional lights on the rear

here is a comparison pic I have.

here is another of the german headlight only.

I doubt you would want to switch anything other than the outside glass. Which incidently has the beam pattern etched on it. Changing the internal stuff will do very little to the look, although the german headlight metal blocker on the low beams is very different from the US one.
Oh yeah, the only other piece of European stuff I want cheap is this rear lip on the bumper. Cost $780 new if anyone cares but I am not paying that much for it.

Oh yeah one more thing I thought of... The german cars are SR20DET left hand drive. So the wiring harness should be a bolt on affair for a US car. That would be nice to have too if I am doing a SR swap. However you will probably be dealing with some excess wiring for the headlight adjustment and headlight washers among other things.

That lip won't fit on USDM or JDM rear bumpers, it'd be liked 2-300 bucks for shipping also. You're looking at nearly $1000 just to get it here, nevermind any paint and custom work to fit it.
All of which means I'll be getting one ....someday =P

:eek2: That rear lip is just too damn sexy! Why cant someone make an aftermarket lip like that for the US bumpers? Why does everything have to be so complicated w/ the 240 :wtc:

Actually, a ENGLISH company did. If the british girl friend can contact them for a group buy it would be nice.

I kno, the place is called SRB power, but their website is skimpy. I had been in email contact with them for a while, but thats where i got 300 for the lip, 300 for shipping from the UK, then who knows what to fit it and paint it. Not a priority at this time.

$300 is not bad...Id def get it for that much, but $300 for shipping? :ughd: Maybe they can split the sucker in two to make shippin cheaper? Paint shop would have no prob puttin it back together, also gotta fill that middle part...damn complicated 240s  Also, I notice they made the rear bumper part of the body...was wondering why it looks good here but crappy on their site?
