On a NA backpressure is still bad. What it gets rid of is the long tubing which helps keep the exhaust gas velocity up, there are some companies that design dump tubes that still keep the velocity up and help scavenge.

On a turbo car I would at least run the exhaust pipe to the side of the car.

Solution: Buy or make a 3" downpipe and weld in an exhaust cutout. I've got a $40 summit one and it sounds awesome. I can't wait to take it to the track.

The cutout's are cool. They sound mean. Im saving up for the $300 electric cutout. Just flip the switch.
