over 1 year of work and we're finally done with this project.
now all we need is a 240SX owner who will buy these and custom mold them to his car. :)

heartwork> hotsausage!something like that makes me realize how cheap my shit is for my car
the crazy thing about me, is that in my mind i want EVERY car i have on the site just so that i can work my lighting magic on it. something about these enthusiast cars that i love.. i keep telling myself "if i was a car collector, sure.. 180sx.. skyline.. soarer.. yep, they'de all be in my collection"
westborough> Mike you're a savage and probably legally insane. nice work. they look oem quality or better
thanks piamp, that was my goal -- oem looking but BETTER. basically, what would lexus do if they had NO care about cost and if they used the latest and greatest tekmology.
brian> very nice, ill loan you a set of coupe taillights, to do it too, you know for reasearch, and you can give them back nice and finished, what do you say
im already working on a new set of lights for the S13 coupe (w/ silvia front end triple projectors), thats actually next on the line up.. so.. you should see some more stuff from me soon.
zemus> AMAZING, very nice work. To bad all 240 owners are cheap bastards, thats why its a good plan to markit the SC ppl, who pay out of the ass for everything. Very nice
i wouldnt generalize like that. even though MOST 240sx owners are broke, you still find broke SC owners, broke NSX owners, etc etc.. just because the car gets more expensive, DOESNT mean people spend more on their cars. I've met Mercedes owners who spend 500 on a tiny lip wing but REFUSE to spend big bucks on something absolutely rare and custom made. THEN, you find people with 800 dollar S13's that will gladly spend thousands on a set of coilovers, right?
The point here is regardless of what you do, you have to make a quality product to the best of your capabilities. After 1 year of work, I think this is the best I could do (and think of) for the SC headlamps and tail lamps. My customer was running out of patience and had no clue what I was developing OR how difficult the conversion was. Luckily, he's happy like a baby now that he saw the final images and that I came through.. now Im just wrapping up details.
Next on the line-up, Porsche Boxster S, more Mini Cooper products, some S13 Silvia goodies, Mitsubishi Starion, and whatever other vehicles I can think of upgrading.
Thanks for the compliments guys,

Lisa and Kevin, if you guys want to spread the word in Japan, feel free to do so, I can offer you a referral fee for your efforts. Just let me know who you send my way.

oktay, i just finished the MKIII lamps for the 1st gen (86-88). I can develop some wild tail lights for the 89-91 but, i only build things when people are serious and interested. so, if you are serious and want them let me know and i'll build whatever your mind (and wallet) can imagine.

Mike,
I tried e-mailing you through Zilvia about the Triple Projector Conversion (I talked to the guy who sent you his headlights) but ya never got back to me. Oh well, good to know you're working at it. I can't wait to send my lights in to you :)
Important Q about it tho: Will you ONLY do beam correction AND HID together OR will you do one or the other?

dont worry, i still have your e-mail and I will respond to it. just so you have an idea, i had to take off for a month or so to focus on the lexus SC projects I had started way back. the black housing HID headlamps were in development since last November and the LED tail lights were being worked on since last August. SO, I had to skip out on anwering e-mails so that I could focus on getting things done, and getting them done right. Its tough to dedicate yourself to a project if you spread yourself thin.
beam correction is an option but i dont think its worthwhile. take a small company like mine and it can easily be overwhelmed by doing lesser modifications like projector beam pattern correction. i mean, its still a fair amount of work. i dont think i'll be offering something like that, just a nice high-end HID/LED retrofit.. keep your eyes peeled.

Years ago I used to be a computer consultant and this was something on the side. For the past 3-4 years its been full-time. Its still a small business but we have a retail office in burbank with products on display. Plus, we now have most of the popular lights in stock, like G35 coupe, sedan, and Z33 HID headlamps, tail lights, etc. Probably why things arent as cheap as they used to be, but businesses obviously need to cover overhead versus some fly-by-night business operated in the back of some garage.

Paying $2300 for aftermarket tail lights is stupid. Relatively speaking that's the going price of an sr clip.
However, some people will spend this kind of money for something like this. From a business standpoint if it is profitable then it makes sense.

obviously stupid to you. Not stupid to someone with tons of money, and different priorities.

Damn the exchange rate. ;) I would be serious if I could afford it. But I can't, so I won't bother you anymore on making any products for my car or my gf's car. :) But your work is worth every penny you're asking!

Thanks. Speaking of which, how many people here are interested in something different for the S13 hatch? We're tinkering with the idea of fabricating a full LED tail light for the hatchback using the 1/2 red 1/2 clear appearance. I dont expect this project to be cheap, but it should be something rare thats for sure.

We've already worked on DSM's, we have a 2001 Eclipse that has had a complete make-over with projector HID/LED headlamps and an array of full LED lighting (tail lights, signals, etc).
If you are looking to develop something for the E-VO, let me K-NOW. Send me an e-mail with your contact info and I'll do my best to assist. With some of these larger projects out of the way, I am looking to expand into other cars -- so just get in touch with me.
ps: Yes, the factory lights are.... annoying.
