They have way to many forums on that site. I think I will add/split some topics for the forum but I will keep it to like 4-7 topics.

Notice no body has posted any real time slips, strange, isn't it?

High 14's on an Si w/ bolt ons is not BS. A good friend of mine is famous in Si-world for being the first to pull sub 15's w/ I/E only, full intereior, on street tires. I've seen the slip and watched the pass. His "technique" is now practiced by Si owners everywhere. AFAIK, there are several others who have duplicated this feat and many who have enlisted additional bolt-on help (or gutting) to get these types of numbers.

As for performance: don't get me wrong - I sold my pristine Si hatch to get my s14, but there are some seriously fast Hondas out there - straight line, autox, or lapping days. Sure, there's relatively more rice - but remember - the vetrans that starting messing with imports back in the early 90s, before the hype, picked the Honda for a reason.

I like hondas, but i liked my 240 better. I know alot of guys with very nicely moded hondas. The problem lies in that most of the people out there with REALLY ricey cars drive hondas. the problem isn't the honda itself.

BTW, konkman, i hear what you're sayin, but nobody has posted any time sheets for 240s on this site either (not tryin to start anything - just pointing that out )

i disagree w/ that they're "the veterans that started msessing around w/ imports in the early 90's, before the hype, picked honda's for a reason." i mean if u go to japan, honda's r despised, there r just so many other cars that outperform virtually any honda. these cars come from japan, but yet so many ppl tend to go and represent the jdm cars w/ hondas, which i feel "most" can give our cars bad reps. silvia's or 240sx's r modified a helluva lot more n represent imports way more n in my opinion r better than any honda in japan, but i do realize that an si can give our cars a run for our money (i hated saying that). i don't think i will ever conform to honda's or fwd cars, n this has nothing to do w/ the rice factor of them b/c that all relies on the person and what they want to actually do w/ their car.

One my friends ran 9.8 in the 1/8 when his Si was PURE stock....no exhaust, coldair or even wires, I mean bone stock. His Si is wierd though, he stripes the other two Si's that we hang out with and they have all kinds of stuff done to thiers.......his car was just flat made fast. Those other two Si guys can drive the #### outta thier cars to.
P.S. I have a Friend that just moved here from Japan and he is a BIG time street racer....He said that Nissans were the big dogs over there.
P.S.S. remeber that scene from "The Fast & the Furious" where those guys broke into the jap guys garage and the jap guys came in on them and he started cussing his mechanic saying "Where's my Nissan engnes they were supposed to be in the cars two weeks ago." This he said as he pointed at his Honda S2000......Nissan's rule, even stupid ass Hollywood screen writers know that.

BlankFlip - I'm not saying that Hondas are better or that they aren't ass in Japan. But I live in the US and am limited by what is imported. Nissan didn't give us a $13,000 car that would provide decent performace in the early 1990s. Nissan didn't give us the SR or the GTI-R or the Skyline. In fact, Honda is the only Japanese nameplate to consistently give the US their best (except the CTR). As a result, early tuners (before anyone was swapping) went to the nameplate they could get the best performance value from - that was Honda or DSMs. Times have changed, but I still have respect for Honda for what they have done and for what some of their serious owners still do.

i can understand that, i am in the states though by the way, just used to be in japan. i'm sure everybody in here wishes that nissan would've brought n marketed their better cars in the US in the early 90's, my favorite nissan's were all made from like 90-95 in japan, especially the skylines, silvia's, 180's, n gti-r's. at least the 240SX is available here in the US n many people don't really know its full potential so they just go w/ the hondas n such. it just makes our nissans even rarer n better though, which makes me like the 240 even more than i did in japan.
